Agreed. There's clearly some funky things going on with USDT. Here's my analysis on USDT.

@Asjoc, Can I submit the 3% tether deduction as losses on my tax returns? :)

I am a lawyer...is this legal? We should take action.

@nkp004, I am not a layer so take what I say as debatable :) I suspect either bitfinex is stealing 3-10% off every tether trade or poloniex (goldman sachs via circle) is fudding tether to promote USDC perc360.com/goldman-sachs-launches-us-dollar-coin-fedcoin-coinbase-to-become-the-crypto-regulatory-agency/ again just suspicion. I do know that as of 9/07/2018 there were 2,756,421,736 USDTs in circulation and today there are exactly 2,076,421,736 meaning 680,000,000 disappeared from circulation. There is also the issue with their bank financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/puerto-ricos-noble-bank-for-sale-victim-of-cryptocurrency-market-drop/ where 5M is probably the cost of all the legal papers and licenses. But in terms of legal that rabbit hole goes deep reddit.com/r/Tether/comments/7v1wdd/why_i_dont_trust_tether_terms_of_service_etc/

@run_eth, disclaimer: I use bitmex therefore I don't care about stable coins but what I do care about is how the dips on tether ($0.90 USD and/or $0.50 USDC) correlated to an unexpected 1m $100+ pump minutes later. And the pattern is clear - simply load both KRAKEN's USDTUSD and any BTC ticker and see ... lets not forget to mention bitfinex doing some weird stuff with holding back withdraws for 'specific user groups' thus preventing arbitrage bots stabilizing the price and forcing bitfinex buyers to choose between $0.90 USDT or BTC at $1100 premium (more expensive). @nkp004, I'm fairly certain it's a matter of time before bitfinex and tether get exposed as scammers.
