I have published this idea to show the similarities between 2 things:
- The correlation between Stocks and Housing
- The US and Australian markets (stocks and housing) with the big heavy drop at the same time
What this implies is if this holds whatever happens to the US economy will happen to the Australian economy which will justify 2 things for me
- I will not use housing and indexed stocks to determine changes in AUDUSD rate
- I can use both real estate ETFs to tell the same story of trends
Obviously, this is just a snapshot at this time so I will keep an eye on changes in correlation but it will help with my analysis in the future with other assets.
