so i was looking to buy VIX but nothing on the trading platform under vix , only uvxy , spxs , vixm etc ????? can we buy vix ????

@elenaec, VIX is not an ETF that you can purchase. However, options are traded on the VIX. If you are bullish, you can buy calls. If you're bearish, buy puts. Or any other combination of options strategies that suit your view. Options are cash settled at expiration or you can trade them anytime before expiration as well.

@elenaec, Honestly, I hesitate to recommend a VIX etf. They have a habit of exploding and usually not in a good way. I only trade options on the VIX.
