Avoiding Risk by tracking VIX, the bull bus might be too crowded Education

VOLATILITY S&P 500TVC

Description

Future prices are unknowable and unpredictable. But measuring current conditions and valuations are informative. Tracking vix volatility and using it to make better decisions in my experience has been helpful.

Warning: Avoid buying options are generally costly. Options are a form of borrowing money to use leverage provided by an option seller.

It's very interesting that you posted video on VIX. For the last week or so I am observing the VIX which is around 14months bottom. Most of the fund Economists are expecting market volatility for the Yr2023. I said to myself It's not a bad idea to have VIX in the portfolio. I have been buying VIX ETFs for the last couple of days!! What are your thought??

@Prasad_Ari, Im with you, vix is worth a trade. long vix trades are difficult to put on without expecting some drawdown, so they usually suck most of the time. But I cant see vix staying like this for the whole year. the valuation work i do also shows that we are not pricing in any recession, just growth still for 2023 vs 2022. current pe is near 19 to 20 on sp500 index. either way, vix will be fun to watch. good luck on your trades!
