You need wider stops for gold. I'd suggest using the 4h or daily chart instead.

A good idea is using a 3 bar low. That works on most timeframes.

I'm long gold with a stop under the low on the daily now.

good eye, its gonna go way above ur target, i would suggest trailing stop instead of closing at target.
