This was my thought as well - as investors piled into the US dollar in 2008-2009. US Dollar is the next level of safe haven along with the Yen and maybe still treasuries. This looks more like a 2008-2009 event than a late 2018 event. Back then it was China, this is something different that we've never experienced.
