Internet Computer (ICP) - Mission 70 Approval - 07 April 2026

Less than 1 min read

According to a DFINITY governance update, the Network Nervous System (NNS) has approved Mission70, a set of changes to voting and node-provider rewards designed to cut ICP inflation by at least 70% by the end of 2026. Mechanically, this means materially lower token emissions to voters and infrastructure providers over time, reducing the pace at which new ICP enters circulation. If network usage and demand stay constant or increase, a lower inflation rate can improve the token’s supply-demand balance and support price. However, reduced yields may also weaken staking incentives and could affect validator and node economics.
