Turkey - Factors to watch on Oct 2

The lira USDTRY was quoted at 41.5840-41.6100 against the U.S. dollar at 0419 GMT, compared to Wednesday's close of 41.5820.

The main BIST 100 share index XU100 closed 1.89% higher on Wednesday at 11,220.22 points.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Tech shares rallied on Thursday, driving Asia stock indexes higher, while gold hovered near a record high and the dollar languished as a weak U.S. labour market report bolstered bets for Federal Reserve interest rate cuts.

ERDOGAN SPEECH

President Tayyip Erdogan will make a speech at a meeting of his ruling AK Party's provincial leaders in Ankara. (1100 GMT)

PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will chair a meeting of the commission working on issues related to the process of ending the insurgency of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group. (0800 GMT)
