The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects Romania's economy to grow by 1.0% in 2025 and 1.4% in 2026, slower than previously expected, it said in a mission statement published on Friday.
Fiscal consolidation, along with additional adjustments in the medium term, are critical to restore fiscal sustainability and market confidence in Romania, the IMF said, adding a sovereign credit rating downgrade remains a risk.
