South Africa Factory Activity Falls for 4th Month: Absa
Less than 1 min read
The seasonally adjusted Absa Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in South Africa fell to 44.7 in February 2025, down from 45.3 in the prior month, signaling the fourth straight contraction in the country’s factory activity and the steepest since August 2024.
Respondents flagged a fall in business activity as a response to both a decline in demand and input supply issues.
Export sales also fell further into contractionary territory mainly owing to lower-than-expected demand, global trade disagreements and logistics issues.
