QQE Cross Indicator Alert v1.0 by JustUncleL

This indicator I have been working on for a few months now and I am now happy with results, it is a Trend following indicator alert strategy and is based on the QQE, or Qualitative Quantitative Estimation, signal line crosses. The QQE indicator is based on the relative strength index ( RSI ), but uses a smoothing technique as an additional transformation. There are three crosses that can be selected (all selected by default):

  • RSI signal line crossing ZERO
  • RSI signal line crossing Fast RSI line
  • RSI signal line exiting the RSI Thresh Hold Channel
The alerts are then optionally filtered (on by default) by the three Weighted Moving averages to make sure that we are following the overall trend.

This indicator should work on any currency pair, most chart time frames and expiry in 3 to 6 candles for binary option trading. For hourly or longer charts expiry can be longer for binary options, or if available use standard Forex trading techniques. As with all technical alerts, remember to avoid major events.

Thank you, this idea actually started out as a moving average cross over system and I was looking for a good confirming indicator, this is where I came across the QQE. I found the QQE cross signals work better with the moving averages ensuring trades are taken in direction of the trend.

I personally don't like to use Automated systems, I prefer to try and look for the best trades manually and just take a few good trades a day. Automated system cannot react to everything that you see on the charts, too many variables.

The easiest way to get this indicator as I have set it up is to select the "Share" icon on the bottom of my sample chart and select "Make it Mine".

In the new version of "Tradingview" the "Make it Mine" button seems to have been removed. For information on how to add indicators look at a couple of good videos:

or

I hop that helps.

Sir, I actually cannot seem to find "make it mine" under the share option any more :(

I am interested in your bottom indicator as well, please!

The "Make it mine" option seems to have been removed in the new version of Tradingview. I will find out how to share the chart in the new version. You can create an empty chart and add the indicator from the public library. I have not as yet published the bottom indicator, I will do so shortly.

The bottom indicator is now available in the public library, it is not required for the "QQE Cross Indicator Alert" to work, but does give a good visual of what the QQE is doing with the same settings.

I didn't get the script how to use it. So what are those columns in the script, weighted volume or what? thanks! Awesome job btw

The columns are just there to show when the signal line is above or below the Thresh Hold levels.

Tradingview script is not compatible with MT4, use MT4 indicators there are quite a few QQE ones around.

I have used this in pine script but the QQE indicator does not appear. It still shows the signals. Is there a reason for this?

The bottom indicator is not required for the actual alerts, the QQE alerts are built into the script along with the Moving averages. The bottom indicator is there to show the visual workings of the QQE indicator, you add the bottom indicator from the public library search for "QQE MT4 Glaz-modified by JustUncleL".

Got it. Thanks! Only reason is I like to see the indicators so I can see when I signal may or may not be coming up

I also use the bottom indicator for analysis of what's coming up. I prefer not to trade the zero cross-over, but take the thresh hold cross-over if it occurs after a zero cross. My next version of this indicator, which I'm currently testing, will make more distinction between the cross overs and give some extra hints on how I use the indicator.

There are of cause periods where it is not so good looking.... But if traded correctly this indicator will give some impressive results. Also please check the recently published improved version (yes!) v2.0 of this indicator and it's associated Strategy trading version...

just checked it out ...looks good....did some backtesting myself as the TV strategy tester felt more delusional....nevertheless results were amazing....gracias Uncle L :)

Warning on TV strategy back testing: the TV back testing trading calculations are performed at close of candle and it makes assumption about what happened within a candle to interpolate results. So results may not reflect real time results which are performed on a per tick basis, this particularly the case when using trailing stop where back testing assumes it always works if the candles keep going the same way. I have found this out when comparing back testing behaviour with actual trades. I am actually have a project on a new idea of making the TV strategy behave the same way in back testing and in real time mode, I will update my scripts if I can get it to work.
