3 Line Strike [TTF]

US Wall St 30OANDA

Description

This indicator is a spin-off of the popular TMA Overlay indicator made by request of the original author that narrows down the scope to simply identifying a couple of key candlestick patterns - Engulfing candles and 3 Line Strikes.
In addition to being a far more tailored and purpose-specific indicator, we have also update the indicator code to the latest version of Pinescript and added some enhanced alerts.

Release Notes

Updating alerts to only trigger on bar close (disabling repainting) as a hot-fix for some unexpected alert behavior. As this is intended to be a scalping indicator (1-5m timeframe), we will continue to look for a way to have an "early-warning" alert as well.

Release Notes

Did a pretty hefty overhaul and refactoring of this indicator as a result of the reported issues with alerts. These should all now be fixed in this update.

As always, constructive feedback is welcome and encouraged, and thanks to those who reported these issues and for being patient as we worked to get them corrected!

Hello, I tested your latest version, and really can't prompt the alarm..
Is the bottom column unchecked, and then add an alarm? The most I see in the comment area cannot be added, please solve it.
Thank you!

@super3331, did you message them directly?
TheTrdFloor
@inditech1, He/she did, and we did reply with the same basic message as seen below. Hopefully he/she sees one of these responses and is able to get it working in short order.

What am I doing wrong?
TheTrdFloor
@inditech1, Did you remove the indicator from your chart AND delete all of the previously-created alerts before reloading the indicator from the Indicators menu?

Try the following:
1. Remove the indicator from your chart
2. Delete ALL alerts created for this indicator
3. Close and re-open TradingView
4. Add the indicator to your chart from the Indicators menu
5. Re-create your alerts

@super3331, We replied to your DM that you sent yesterday, but perhaps you haven't see that yet. The checkbox at the very bottom of the indicator settings does absolutely nothing - it's just there to inform you of the behavior regarding how we built the functionality for the 'any alert() function call' alert type (which basically is that it is built to trigger alerts that correspond to the on-chart signals depending on what you have enabled/disabled in the indicator settings). To actually get alerts to trigger, you still need to set the alert itself up.

This is awesome my friend, thank you for allowing us to use it.

@kennairne, Thanks!

I really like the simplicity of this indicator. Only the additional text "3LS-Bull/3LS-Bear" is really pointless and only clutters up your chart. Who needs this text when you can use symbols and alerts already?
I had to remove it from the code, but it should be either an option to print it, or not be there in the first place.
TheTrdFloor
@ABMEXX, Thanks! And your feedback is noted on making the label text optional. We will likely add that in whenever we get to making enhancements to this indicator.
