PTG Levels of Interest

317
Levels of Interest marks the price regions where NQ tends to rotate. It reads swing structure the same way you would by hand, then locks the map once each morning at 8:00 AM ET so every user is working from the same picture all session.

WHAT IT DRAWS

Two tiers of regions, both on the chart at once.

Structure (heavier fill and border) comes from 2 hour swing structure across the last 120 days. These are the long memory areas the market has worked repeatedly.

Tactical (lighter) comes from 1 hour swing structure across the last 10 days. This is recent, in play structure. The faintest boxes are single touch areas, so treat those as provisional.

Every region has three parts.

Center line: the level itself, the average of the swing pivots that formed it.

Solid box: the working zone around that level.

Dashed halo: the sweep allowance. A wick into this area is normal behavior at a level rather than a failure.

Fresh 20 day highs and lows plot as single lines. A brand new extreme has no touch history yet, so it cannot form a zone, but it still matters.

HOW TO READ IT

Solid box is where you do business. Dashed halo is where you get tested, and stops belong past it rather than inside it. A close beyond the dashed halo is where the level did not hold.

Region width scales with volatility, so zones breathe with the market instead of staying a fixed number of points. In a fast tape they widen, in a quiet tape they tighten.

WHY IT LOCKS AT 8:00 AM ET

The zone set is built only from data available at the lock. It does not shift as the session develops and it does not repaint. Load it at 8:05 AM or at 2:00 PM, on the 1 minute chart or the daily, and you get the same regions.

SETTINGS

Show fresh 20 day extremes, on by default.

Show labels, prices on each region, off by default.

Colors for above price and below price. Shading follows live price, so a region flips as price trades through it.

ALERTS

Two conditions are available: approaching a region from below, and approaching a region from above. Both fire against the locked set.

NOTES

Built and tested on NQ. The geometry is volatility scaled rather than tick based, so it carries to other instruments, though NQ is what it was developed against.

This is a mapping tool rather than a signal service. It marks where to pay attention and how much room to give a level. What you do at the region is the trade.

Quick bug fix
Release Notes
Visual and consistency update. Zone placement, grades, and every parameter are unchanged; your levels are exactly where they were.

Cleaner zones: the level itself is now the heaviest line on the chart, and its weight carries the grade. The boldest lines are structure zones built from months of repeated reactions, medium lines are fresh tactical zones with multiple qualifying pivots, and the faint thin lines are single-pivot zones still earning their history. Band edges were softened so the boundary no longer outweighs the level inside it.

New display toggle: the dashed sweep margin (the normal wick-through allowance drawn around each zone) can be hidden in Display settings. Hiding it changes nothing about zones or alerts.

One map on every timeframe: the 8:00 AM ET lock is now computed identically on all chart timeframes, including 4H and Daily, so every chart shows the same levels all session.

Quieter alerts: approach alerts fire once when price enters the half-ATR approach band and re-arm after price leaves it, instead of repeating while price holds near a level.

ES supported: parameters are identical to NQ and were tested against 11.5 years of ES history before this update.

v2.4: a cleaner map that weights recent structure properly.

WHAT CHANGED

Fewer zones, better ordered. The map now enforces one minimum spacing across both tiers. When a structure zone and a tactical zone sit closer together than that, only one is drawn: the higher grade, and on a tie the one the market defended more recently. Earlier versions always dropped the tactical zone in that situation, which hid fresh, repeatedly tested levels behind older ones a few points away.

Grades now mean the same thing on both tiers. Visual weight tracks reactions and freshness rather than which tier built the zone.

Grade A (heaviest): three or more qualifying reactions with at least one in the last 10 days. That is fresh 1 hour structure the market keeps defending, or 2 hour structure price came back to this week.

Grade B: two fresh reactions, or long memory structure that has not been defended in the last 10 days.

Grade C (faintest): a single reaction, or a structure zone with no reaction in 45 days. Those old zones stay on the chart at the lightest weight and stop alerting until price defends them again. With labels on they read S~.

Fresh 20 day highs and lows are hidden only when they fall inside a zone, not when they are merely near one.

WHAT DID NOT CHANGE

How zones are built: same swing detection, same reaction filter, same 8:00 AM ET lock, same volatility scaled widths and sweep halo. Settings are unchanged, so your saved inputs carry over. Alerts still fire on approach to Grade A and B regions.
