BulletProof Volumetric Regression Heatmap (2027 Update)

23
A single best-fit regression channel built over your chosen lookback window, with a volume-weighted heatmap painted around it showing exactly where trading activity concentrated relative to that trend line.

WHAT IT DOES

  • Fits a linear regression line across the lookback window and measures how far price actually strayed from that line (residual deviation), not just raw price volatility
  • Paints a multi-tier heatmap around the regression line — brighter, more solid bands mark price zones where volume was heaviest
  • Plots a dashed Point of Control line marking the single most-traded price zone in the window
  • Shows a buy/sell volume delta histogram along the channel
  • Optional side volume profile on the right edge
  • Reversion signals when price closes back inside the extreme bands during range-bound (contraction) conditions, with optional volume confirmation
  • On-chart dashboard summarizing regime, bias, channel length/width, volume ratio, and POC offset in standard deviations

HOW TO READ THE CHANNEL

The regression line is a single straight best fit across the entire lookback window — it is a long-run trend reference, not a line that hugs every swing in price. If your lookback window spans a mix of range-bound stretches and a sharp spike, the line will sit closer to flat, and the heatmap bands may appear as level, evenly-spaced stripes rather than a tight diagonal channel — this is expected behavior, not a bug.

If you want the channel to track recent price more closely:

  • Lower "Base Lookback Length" (default 150) to shorten the window
  • Leave "Volatility-Adaptive Length" off (default) if you want a fixed window; turning it on lets the length stretch further out in low-volatility conditions, which can pull in more distant history

SETTINGS

  • Source / Base Lookback Length / Volatility-Adaptive Length / Adaptive Sensitivity — control the regression window
  • Heatmap Levels, Smoothing Passes, Band Thickness, Forward Projection — control the heatmap's resolution and appearance
  • Reversion Signal band width, flatness threshold, and volume confirmation are independently adjustable
  • Dashboard position and size are configurable, or can be hidden entirely

This script does not repaint the regression line or heatmap — both are computed fresh on the most recent bar only, so the channel updates in real time as new bars form, but historical bands are not being recalculated retroactively.
