CURRENT-CHART STOCHASTIC LAYERS
STOCHASTIC 1
Default settings:
- %K Length: 9
- %D Smoothing: 3
This is the fastest Stochastic layer and normally reacts first to short-term momentum changes.
STOCHASTIC 2
Default settings:
- %K Length: 14
- %D Smoothing: 3
This layer provides a medium-speed momentum reading.
STOCHASTIC 3
Default settings:
- %K Length: 40
- %D Smoothing: 4
This slower calculation provides broader momentum context than Stochastic 1 and Stochastic 2.
STOCHASTIC 4
Default settings:
- %K Length: 60
- Initial Smoothing: 1
- %D Smoothing: 10
This is the slowest Stochastic layer.
The same Stochastic 4 settings are also used by the multi-symbol momentum-persistence dashboard.
BULLISH ALIGNMENT
A Stochastic contributes one bullish alignment count when:
- Its value is below 20
- Its current value is higher than its previous value
This means that the oscillator is rising while still positioned inside the oversold region.
The script counts how many of the four Stochastics currently satisfy both conditions.
BEARISH ALIGNMENT
A Stochastic contributes one bearish alignment count when:
- Its value is above 80
- Its current value is lower than its previous value
This means that the oscillator is falling while still positioned inside the overbought region.
The script counts how many of the four Stochastics currently satisfy both conditions.
BACKGROUND SIGNAL STRENGTH
Min # of Stochastics for BG Coloring controls how many Stochastics must satisfy the same directional condition before the chart background changes.
Available values:
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
Default value:
- 4
A setting of 4 requires all four Stochastics to align.
A setting of 3 requires at least three.
A setting of 2 requires at least two.
A setting of 1 creates the most sensitive and frequent background conditions.
GREEN BACKGROUND
A green chart background appears when the bullish alignment count reaches the selected minimum.
With the default setting of 4, all four Stochastics must be:
- Below 20
- Rising compared with their previous values
The green background identifies coordinated upward oscillator movement while the Stochastics remain oversold.
It does not guarantee that price has formed a final bottom or that price will continue rising.
RED BACKGROUND
A red chart background appears when the bearish alignment count reaches the selected minimum.
With the default setting of 4, all four Stochastics must be:
- Above 80
- Falling compared with their previous values
The red background identifies coordinated downward oscillator movement while the Stochastics remain overbought.
It does not guarantee that price has formed a final top or that price will continue falling.
MOMENTUM-PERSISTENCE DASHBOARD
The dashboard scans:
- Five configurable symbols
- Four configurable timeframes
- Twenty independent symbol-timeframe combinations
Each dashboard cell calculates the Very-Slow Stochastic using the selected Stochastic 4 settings.
The current chart symbol does not control the dashboard symbols. Each dashboard market is requested and calculated independently.
DEFAULT TIMEFRAMES
The default dashboard timeframes are:
- 15 minutes
- 1 hour
- 4 hours
- 1 day
All four timeframes can be changed in the indicator settings.
BULL DASHBOARD STATE
A cell displays BULL when the Very-Slow Stochastic has remained strictly above 90 for at least the selected Bars Above 90 Required value.
Default requirement:
- 7 bars
A BULL state therefore represents persistent momentum inside the upper extreme region.
It is not automatically a buy signal and does not guarantee that momentum will continue.
BEAR DASHBOARD STATE
A cell displays BEAR when the Very-Slow Stochastic has remained strictly below 10 for at least the selected Bars Below 10 Required value.
Default requirement:
- 7 bars
A BEAR state represents persistent momentum inside the lower extreme region.
It is not automatically a sell signal and does not guarantee that momentum will continue.
NEUTRAL DASHBOARD STATE
A dash is displayed when neither persistence condition is active.
This means that the Very-Slow Stochastic has not remained above 90 or below 10 for the required number of bars.
IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BACKGROUND AND DASHBOARD
The chart background and dashboard use different momentum conditions.
Green chart background:
- Selected number of Stochastics are below 20
- Those Stochastics are rising
Red chart background:
- Selected number of Stochastics are above 80
- Those Stochastics are falling
Dashboard BULL:
- Very-Slow Stochastic has remained above 90
Dashboard BEAR:
- Very-Slow Stochastic has remained below 10
The chart background measures rotation from an extreme.
The dashboard measures persistence inside an extreme.
INVALID SYMBOL HANDLING
The dashboard includes invalid-symbol protection.
When a selected ticker is unavailable, incorrectly entered or unsupported by the user’s TradingView data plan, the request returns no valid state instead of stopping the entire indicator.
An unavailable symbol-timeframe combination will normally display a neutral dash.
DASHBOARD APPEARANCE
The Lite dashboard is fixed in the top-left corner.
Available text sizes:
- Tiny
- Small
- Normal
- Large
Available colour presets:
- Black Background
- White Background
The colour preset changes dashboard text visibility.
It does not change any Stochastic calculations or signal conditions.

HOW TO USE
1. ADD THE INDICATOR
Apply Stochastic Momentum Dashboard LITE to a TradingView chart.
The indicator runs over the main price chart.
The dashboard appears in the top-left corner.
2. START WITH THE DEFAULT STOCHASTIC SETTINGS
Suggested starting values:
- Stochastic 1: 9 and 3
- Stochastic 2: 14 and 3
- Stochastic 3: 40 and 4
- Stochastic 4: 60, 1 and 10
These settings provide four different momentum speeds.
Review the default behaviour before changing several settings simultaneously.
3. SELECT THE BACKGROUND STRENGTH
Use Min # of Stochastics for BG Coloring to control signal sensitivity.
Suggested interpretations:
- 4: strictest four-speed alignment
- 3: balanced alignment
- 2: more responsive
- 1: most sensitive
The default setting of 4 requires complete alignment.
4. READ A GREEN BACKGROUND
A green background means that the required number of Stochastics are:
- Below 20
- Rising
This can help identify coordinated upward oscillator rotation from an oversold region.
Confirm the condition using price structure, trend and risk management rather than treating the background as an automatic entry.
5. READ A RED BACKGROUND
A red background means that the required number of Stochastics are:
- Above 80
- Falling
This can help identify coordinated downward oscillator rotation from an overbought region.
The condition should be evaluated together with broader market context.
6. SELECT THE DASHBOARD SYMBOLS
Choose five markets to monitor.
The default symbols can be replaced with any TradingView-supported tickers.
The dashboard can monitor symbols that are different from the current chart symbol.
7. SELECT THE DASHBOARD TIMEFRAMES
Choose four timeframes appropriate for your analysis.
Example intraday configuration:
- 5 minutes
- 15 minutes
- 1 hour
- 4 hours
Example broader configuration:
- 1 hour
- 4 hours
- 1 day
- 1 week
8. ADJUST THE PERSISTENCE REQUIREMENT
Bars Above 90 Required controls how many consecutive requested-timeframe bars the Very-Slow Stochastic must remain above 90 before BULL appears.
Bars Below 10 Required controls how many consecutive bars it must remain below 10 before BEAR appears.
Higher values:
- Require longer persistence
- Produce fewer dashboard states
- Create slower confirmation
Lower values:
- Allow states to appear sooner
- Produce more frequent states
- Create more sensitive readings
9. READ THE DASHBOARD ROWS
Each row represents one selected symbol.
Read from left to right to compare the same market across all four selected timeframes.
10. READ THE DASHBOARD COLUMNS
Each column represents one selected timeframe.
Read from top to bottom to compare persistence states across all five selected markets.
11. COMPARE TIMEFRAMES
A symbol may display different states on different timeframes.
Example:
- 15-minute: BEAR
- 1-hour: neutral
- 4-hour: BULL
- 1-day: BULL
This means that momentum conditions differ across the timeframe structure.
It is not necessarily an error or contradiction.
12. USE THE COLOUR PRESET
Choose Black Background for dark charts.
Choose White Background for light charts.
This changes table-text contrast only.
13. ADJUST THE TEXT SIZE
Increase the dashboard text size when using a large monitor or high-resolution display.
Reduce it when chart space is limited.
14. COMBINE THE DASHBOARD WITH THE CURRENT CHART
The background can show short-term rotation on the current chart while the dashboard provides broader multi-symbol and multi-timeframe persistence context.
For example:
- Current chart displays a green background
- Higher-timeframe dashboard cells remain BULL
- Price structure supports upward continuation
This creates broader agreement between current-chart rotation and dashboard persistence.
Agreement does not guarantee a successful outcome.
DEVELOPING VALUES AND REPAINTING
The current-chart background uses the live chart candle.
Before the chart candle closes:
- Stochastic values can change
- Alignment counts can change
- A green or red background can appear or disappear
The dashboard uses requested-timeframe values with future-looking data disabled.
However, a requested-timeframe Stochastic can continue changing while its candle remains open.
This means:
- Dashboard states can change before the relevant candle closes
- A BULL or BEAR state can disappear during a developing candle
- Realtime states may appear differently after the indicator reloads
For more conservative interpretation, wait for the relevant chart and dashboard timeframe candles to close.
LOWER-TIMEFRAME LIMITATION
When a selected dashboard timeframe is lower than the current chart timeframe, standard requested-timeframe calculations may not evaluate every lower-timeframe candle inside each chart candle.
For more complete dashboard evaluation, use a chart timeframe equal to or lower than the fastest selected dashboard timeframe.
LIMITATIONS
- The dashboard uses Stochastic 4 only
- Dashboard BULL and BEAR states measure persistence, not guaranteed direction
- The chart background and dashboard use different conditions
- Current-chart backgrounds can change before candle close
- Dashboard states can change before requested candles close
- Lower-timeframe requests may be incomplete on higher-timeframe charts
- Overbought momentum can remain strong
- Oversold momentum can remain weak
- No alerts are included
- No historical performance statistics are included
- No entry, target or stop system is included
- The indicator does not place trades
- The indicator should not be used as the sole basis for a trading decision
ORIGINALITY AND PROTECTED-SOURCE RATIONALE
The script does not present the standard Stochastic oscillator as a proprietary concept.
Its value comes from combining four differently paced Stochastic calculations for current-chart extreme-zone alignment with a five-symbol, four-timeframe Very-Slow Stochastic persistence dashboard.
The coordinated implementation includes:
- Multi-speed current-chart alignment
- Adjustable background sensitivity
- Twenty requested symbol-timeframe states
- Configurable persistence requirements
- Multi-market dashboard organisation
- Invalid-symbol handling
- Theme and display controls
The protected source preserves the implementation of the combined alignment logic, persistence calculations, multi-symbol request structure and dashboard organisation.
