GEORGE TAYLOR TRADE ZONES & PROJECTED RANGE
OVERVIEW To the untrained eye, price action is a chaotic sea of random fluctuations. But for the institutions quietly moving massive volume in the Futures and Forex markets, the market operates on a strict, engineered schedule. The George Taylor Trade Zones indicator brings the legendary 1950s "Book Method" into the modern era of algorithmic trading, mapping the hidden blueprint used to anticipate where major institutions will sweep liquidity.
Commercial market makers cannot execute massive positions without moving the market against themselves; instead, they must engineer liquidity by triggering retail panic selling or euphoric buying. By mathematically projecting the residual energy of daily highs, lows, and closes, this indicator automatically plots the exact exhaustion zones where these institutional traps are set.
THE THREE-DAY CYCLE ENGINE Taylor discovered that institutional accumulation and distribution operates on a repeating, three-phase sequence. This indicator maps these phases to create forward-looking operational windows:
• The Buy Day: Emerging from a downward sequence, the market hits a temporary floor where smart money accumulates. The goal is to spot exhaustion after a deliberate sweep of the prior day's low and enter long.
• The Sell Day: Following accumulation, the market is driven upward with bullish momentum, serving as the target window to liquidate long holdings.
• The Sell Short Day: Once the markup phase exhausts itself and forms a ceiling, the cycle resets. Traders shift bias to initiate short positions as price breaks back down through previous structural boundaries.
CORE INDICATOR FEATURES Manually tracking previous swing highs, lows, and closes every evening is tedious and prone to human error. This script completely automates the institutional code.
• Auto-Plotted Taylor Lines: The script dynamically calculates and visualizes the Taylor Upper Level (TUL), Taylor Lower Level (TLL), and the Previous Daily Close (PDC).
• Dynamic Zone Transposition: Markets evolve rapidly intraday. If price breaks out by a specified point threshold, the script utilizes advanced cloning capabilities to transpose and copy your Taylor Zones, creating dynamic extensions to keep you anchored to institutional structure.
• "Skip Holiday" Intelligence: Nothing skews mathematical averages worse than low-volume, half-day sessions. When enabled, the custom filter natively ignores early US holiday closes and seamlessly carries forward the previous full session's calculations.
• Hardcoded NY Time: The internal engine is permanently locked to New York time (EST/EDT) to ensure global accuracy regardless of your broker's timezone.
• Pristine Visibility: To maintain maximum chart clarity and prevent clutter, the historic OHLC (Open, High, Low, Close) data tables and historical zone tracking are disabled by default. When enabled, all decimal values are automatically rounded to the nearest whole number for flawless readability.
THE HIGH-PROBABILITY EXECUTION PLAYBOOK This indicator is particularly effective for navigating the structured auction markets of index futures like ES, MES, NQ, and MNQ.
To effectively trade the Taylor Trade Zones, you must monitor how price interacts with the specific Taylor Lines.
1. Identify the Cycle Phase: Determine if the market is on a Buy, Sell, or Sell Short Day to establish your directional bias.
2. Wait for the Sweep: Do not enter blindly. Wait for price to pierce the Taylor Line—sweeping resting liquidity—and look for a strong, structural rejection back in the other direction.
3. The US Open Reversion Play: Observe the price action right at the 9:30 AM US equity open. If the market gaps above the Taylor Upper Level (TUL), retail will often chase the breakout. Once price pierces the TUL and suffers a swift structural rejection downward, the highest probability play is a mean-reversion short targeting the Previous Day's Close (PDC).
