Currency conversion in the Stock Screener

In the Stock Screener table, some data is displayed in currency format. For example price data (such as the Last Price of a symbol) is always presented in the currency of a given company, which may not correspond to the local market currency. Please note that this data cannot yet be converted.

Financial data (Market Capitalization, Basic EPS, etc.) is listed in the market currency, but can have up to three conversion options.

  1. Native currency: the company's own currency (= LAST’s currency).
  2. Market currency: the currency of the local market in which the company is located.
  3. USD: values can be converted to this currency on any market.

For example, there are different ticker currencies for the UK market (this can be seen from the LAST column).

1. To analyze financial values in symbol currencies, you need to select a Native currency option, then the LAST and Market CAP values for each symbol will be displayed in the same currency symbol by symbol.

2. The second conversion option in the Financials menu (GBP in the current example) converts the financial values into the currency of the local market (e.g. British pound sterling for the UK market.) Note that the Market Cap column is recalculated, while the LAST column remains in company currencies.

3. The third conversion option recalculates the financial values into USD currency (you can convert financial values in any market to US dollars, this option will always be the last one in the menu). Please note that price columns such as LAST are still displayed in the company’s currency.

However, there are markets where the financial data is calculated in the market currency for all symbols. In these markets, there will be only two options in the menu:

  • Market currency
  • USD

For example, the Brazilian market.
