How to use Minds and what they are made for?

TradingView offers different options for traders and investors to share their thoughts and opinions. And Minds are one of them. With this feature, you can quickly spread your thoughts and read others' Minds to stay informed about the community's insights. In this article, we'll discuss

What's the difference between Minds and Ideas?

Ideas are mid-to-long-form research, akin to blog posts. They are chart-focused and almost always answer the question "What is the current chart saying about this or that symbol?"

Minds is a social media feed where traders gather to chat, follow, and discuss specific symbols. It’s curated by your peers and filled with their opinions, notes, and shared news topics related to the symbol.

How to access Minds

If you're overseeing Markets, open the symbol you want to know more about. Once on the symbol's page, open Discussions.

There are also two ways to access Minds from the Supercharts. If you want to know what other traders think or are ready to publish your thoughts, click Publish in the upper right corner and then — Speak your mind.

Another way to access Minds is to open the right rail in the symbol details. There, you’ll find Minds in the purple box.

This setup allows you to chart any symbol while simultaneously keeping up with what traders are discussing on the Minds feed for that specific symbol.

! Note: changing the symbol on the chart will also change the Minds feed.

When you open Minds, the dollar sign hashtag will appear before the symbol. It is important to utilize it, as it hyperlinks the symbol. If you don't use the hashtag, other users will not be able to access the overview for the symbol while hovering over it.

If you press the Attach chart snapshot button, a snapshot of the chart that you're currently observing will be attached to your message.

For every Mind you see published, you can express your support by clicking on the boost icon, leaving comments, or sharing this post. If you spot anyone violating our House rules, you can report it to our moderators by choosing Report in a mind's menu.

In addition to our House rules, it's important to consider the following two steps:

  • Double-check that you're posting in the right Minds feed. To do this, open the chart for the symbol you want to discuss, and then hit the Minds button.
  • It's worth noting that Minds are not meant to promote your already published ideas. Ideas already have their own special spot in the feed. So if you post a Mind with a link to a published idea, it may end up getting removed and those who repeatedly violate the rules may be sanctioned.

Stick to these simple rules, and you'll be on your way to getting some great feedback from the community.
