The company was founded by João Kluwe, Ademar Orlando Zanchi, Oscar Henrique Purper, Eugênio Ervin Hausen, Hebert Müller, and João Guilherme Wallig on November 17, 1939 and is headquartered in São Leopoldo, Brazil.
