GEQ is an actively managed fund with diversified exposure to equity securities across the globe, including developing or emerging markets. It utilized the IRS code 351 conversion, acquiring contributions of appreciated securities to initially fund the ETF at launch and allow investors to hold shares of GEQ without an immediate taxable event. The fund may hold common stocks, preferred stocks, depositary receipts, REITs, and other ETFs with comparable characteristics to achieve broad global equity exposure. It targets and heavily weights companies with market-caps among the 500 largest companies in the world. Although it will invest majority of its assets in large-cap stocks, it may also have exposure to mid- and small-caps. To maintain diversification, the fund will invest in no less than three different countries, including the US. The portfolio is rebalanced annually, unless deemed necessary by the adviser.
