VR targets global companies that are positioned to benefit from the development and commercialization of the Metaverse, a set of virtual and 3D simulations that can be experienced simultaneously by users regardless of their physical locations. The selection process starts with identifying firms classified under FactSet Industries related to the Metaverse. Eligible companies are further screened and categorized as either pure-play, pre-revenue, or diversified based on primary operations and revenue derived from four Metaverse Business Activities: 1) Augmented/Virtual/Mixed Reality and Spatial Computing, 2) Creator Platforms, 3) Creator Economy, and 4) Digital Infrastructure/Hardware. The narrow portfolio holds 30 pure-play and pre-revenue companies, and 10 diversified firms. Holdings are weighted by market-cap, with individual security weights capped at 6% for pure-plays, and 4.5% for diversified as well as pre-revenue firms. The index rebalances and reconstitutes semi-annually.
