The fund is passively managed, utilizing a combination of leverage and covered call strategy. It provides 1.25x leveraged exposure to the Solactive Canadian Core Financials Equal Weight Index, a narrow index that invests in the 10 largest companies from the bank and insurance segments of the Canadian stock market. Constituents are selected based on market capitalization and are equally weighted. At any time, the fund manager can write covered call options at its discretion, on not more than 33% of its securities, depending on market volatility and other factors. The underlying index reconstitutes quarterly. The fund is a geared product that rebalances within two business days of the funds leverage exceeding 2% above its target leverage of 25%. As such, this is designed as a short-term trading tool. and not a long-term investment vehicle.
