The fund provides exposure to an index of federal, provincial and municipal bonds issued by the government of Canada. Constituents must have an investment-grade rating, an effective term to maturity between one and five years, and be denominated in Canadian dollars. The fund is market-cap-weighted and holds the constituents securities approximately in the same proportion as they are seen in the index. It is designed for investors with low risk appetite seeking short-term exposure from a portfolio of government bonds domiciled in Canada. Note that government bonds with a term to maturity of up to six years are less volatile thus have lesser risk than bonds with longer maturities. The index is rebalanced on a daily basis.
