The fund aims for long-term capital growth by investing in gold, precious metals and minerals, and certificates relating to them, as well as equity securities of companies directly or indirectly involved in exploration, mining, production or distribution of metals and minerals. The fund may invest in gold, silver, platinum and palladium in the form of bullion, coins and storage receipts and certificates. It may invest in commodity ETFs with similar exposure. For its equity investments, the fund employs a fundamental analysis to identify securities with perceived superior potential for long-term capital appreciation. The process seeks undervalued companies backed by strong management teams and solid business models that can benefit from macro-economic trends. The fund may engage in securities lending, short selling, and invest in cash, short-term money market instruments, or ETFS.
