Which impulse should i use in general?

U.S. Dollar / South African Rand (FX:USDZAR)

FX:USDZAR U.S. Dollar / South African Rand

Should I use the left I.C.I. to the downside or the right I.C.I. to the upside? Although both charts are the same i have two different impulses.
