In the case of XBTUSD, COINBASE:BTCUSD is a great basis ticker to use for comparison and it goes into the calculation of the index price. After studying the relationships between your spot and leveraged assets you will begin to see patterns like absorption and front running. These relationships are different for each asset and exchange so you will have to DYOR with this one.
