The Generational Effects on the Stock Market...

TVC:NDQ   US 100 Index
100% PURE opinion based speculation based first on the structure of the ChART and the move we are currently in today and the possible and plausible projected patterns based on watching markets move on a micro scale for 15k hours or more.

Then applying the Generational thought process on money knowing groups from all ages. Being a Grandson of The Greatest and Silent Generation, son of Boomers, Gen X myself, The father of some Gen Z and Alpha kids, friends to Millennials. Being around before the internet took off and we actually talked to each other in person. When we still had floor model TV's with turn dials. Rabbit ears and 13 channels. Rotary Phones. Atari. Played outside until dark. Drove with no seat belts and rode in truck beds. Grew up on some of the best music of all times, classic rock like Led Zepplin, Skynard, Hendrix and more and in turn created the last great period of Alternative Rock and Rap. I mean really. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, STP, Alice and Chains, Soundgarden, Snoop Dog, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, The Beasty Boys, Eminem... I mean really the list goes on. Those were the days. Now we have Doja Cat, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Lil Nas X... Do you see what's happening?

From a financial perspective. The Greatest Generation passed their savings on to their kids, The Silent and Boomers. Who still had the effects of the Great Depression ingrained in them. They saved, lived within their means. That started to break down some with boomers. Living beyond their means. They paid the price in 2000 and 2007. I was expecting a Great Depression like scenario in 2020. But the markets have spoken that is not the case. (RIGHT NOW). WHY?

Well fundamentally I think Gen X are still strong. We are the last Generation before the technological change. This is why I use the NASDAQ to ChART this theory. You see. This is GEN X's and following generations ChART. This is the DOW of the 1929 and the S&P of the 50's. These are the stocks that are going to change the way we live. And that effect is why I see my kids in Gen Z and Alpha having a terrible retirement years. Why?

Well they are the VLOG and Social Media Generation. You see it's really not totally Gen X and Millennials parenting though you can't say that the family hasn't degraded over the past 50 years. But we were the first to parents in history to parent kids in an age of information overload. Our kids have been inundated with mind numbing propaganda from all corners of life. Their expectations have been purposely skewed out of whack. They do the dumbest things and destroy stuff for clicks and views. They waste and think $80 drunk elephant face lotion at 9 is a reasonable request. They do not think of the future. They live inside a digital world that creates this unobtainable utopia that doesn't exist. Even your trader gurus talk down about work like it's a bad thing and beneath people. They want to be vloggers and day traders and content creators instead of serving people by providing something that people actually need and want to make their life better. And without service life degrades. Even AI needs humans to build it and think of robotic ways to better life. Hard work ethics will ALWAYS be in style...

For this thought process they will pay. This market will be held up by Gen X (but just barely) The Millennials will start to unwind it. Why? We are in line to inherit the greatest wealth transfer in history. Some will not think of their kids, or tomorrow. You see the markets only got this high by continual and consistent saving and creating buying pressure. Do you think the Sephora Kids are going to do that? Are you starting to see that this theory is very plausible?

You see because Gen X has "SOME" semblance of the past. We will not sell our inheritance and try to continue to make it grow. But Z and Alpha ONLY know the new world. And while I admit hasn't been easy with rent and everything priced out the roof for Z. AS SOON AS THEY GET THEIR HANDS ON INEARNED WEALTH... They will create selling pressure no Government can stop.

But my grandkids and great grandkids will look back on the years gone by and realize what we had and what happened and how social media screwed everything up. And that physical interactions matter. That you have to have expectations grounded in reality and ruining a pool by putting 10 million orbies in it. Or videoing yourself strapping a piece of wood to your truck bed purposely through the wheels and driving off and destroying a piece of history is stupid and pointless. That your validation doesn't come through likes. It comes through what you change while you are here on earth. Whose life you effect.

With all that being said. There's no realistic way to ChART this time frame. I only do it to stretch my mind and think. I love to ponder.

The areas represent when each Generational Group comes into retirement age between 60 and 80 years old and SPECULATION as to what will they do with those retirement accounts in the US...

Use these posts as fodder of what to "possibly" look for as you come into the age of retiring.

I am back because this is my public journal. I want to leave my thoughts here to look back and see where I got it wrong and where I got it right and what I was thinking at the time. It's a perfect platform and avenue to do so. And I am passionate about ChARTing... So there's that.

Until next time...
