Breakout Trend Follower V2This is a variation on my other Breakout Trend Follower script. In the other script, you can use a moving average to act as a filter for your trades (i.e. if the price is below the moving average, it won't go long). After making the tool that detects trends on higher timeframes, I wanted to see if that might be a better filter than a moving average.
So this script lets you look at higher time frame trends (i.e. are there higher highs and higher lows? If so, this is an uptrend). You only take trades when you are with the trend. You have the ability to select up to two trends to act as a filter. Each trend direction is shown on a table on the chart for easy reference. The current pivot highs and lows are plotted on the chart so you can see when you might be breaking both the current timeframe's trend and higher level trends.
What I found was that in general this does not perform as well as the other strategy, but it does seem to be a lot more picky with trades. Showing higher win rates and a better profit factor. It just takes a lot less trades and the net profit isn't as good.

Donchian Channels Strategy - Long Term TrendFor Educational Purposes. Results can differ on different markets and can fail at any time. Profit is not guaranteed.
This only works in a few markets and in certain situations. Changing the settings can give better or worse results for other markets. This is a longer term trend following strategy that uses Donchian Channels for trend following and uses the upper and lower bands to find price breakouts to enter the market and then uses the middle band as a trailing stop to exit. DCs are known as the original trend following strategy made by Richard Donchian.
Usually the middle band uses the same length of the upper and lower bands in its calculation but I included the default option of using a middle band that is double the length of the other bands, but also an option to use the regular input length that most Donchian strategies use if needed. If long term trends are somehow found, this longer middle band lets the profits run longer and lets you see where the long trends were at if the market had any. The double lengthed middle band looks surprisingly very similar to a 3x ATR trailing stop, which is the recommended setting Wilder suggested for trend following. If a good ATR stop or other trailing stop can't be found, this longer middle band can act as a substitute for it.
For some reason I can't seem to find anything related to Donchian strategies on here despite the popularity and simplicity of it, not even a single working one to my liking, so I made my own. It seems this strategy only works in trending markets. I intentionally handpicked a market that the backtest does well on to illustrate the potential it might have for other markets where trending following strategies might work on and what to expect the results in those might be. Trend following strategies are said to have high profits but at the same time lower accuracy due to the failure rate of being able to catch the right trend. If you all got any suggestions or feedback please let me.
BTC Trend-Following Strategy (Limited Version)This is a trend-following strategy designed specifically for Bitcoin (BTC).
It has demonstrated consistent performance and profitable opportunities over multiple years of historical data.
The strategy aims to capture major trends while managing risk effectively, making it suitable for traders looking for a systematic BTC trading approach.
Dynamic SMA Trend System [Multi-Stage Risk Engine]Description:
This script implements a robust Trend Following strategy based on a multiple Simple Moving Average (SMA) crossover logic (25, 50, 100, 200). What sets this strategy apart is its advanced "4-Stage Risk Engine" and a smart "High-Water Mark" Re-Entry system, designed to protect profits during parabolic moves while filtering out chop during sideways markets.
How it works:
The strategy operates on three core pillars: Trend Identification, Dynamic Risk Management, and Momentum Re-Entry.
1. Entry Logic (Trend Identification) The script looks for crossovers at different trend stages to capture early reversals as well as established trends:
Short-Term: SMA 25 crosses over SMA 50.
Mid-Term: SMA 50 crosses over SMA 100.
Macro-Trend: SMA 100 crosses over SMA 200.
2. The 4-Stage Risk Engine (Dynamic Stop Loss) Instead of a static Stop Loss, this strategy uses a progressive system that adapts as the price increases:
Stage 1 (Protection): Starts with a fixed Stop Loss (default -10%) to give the trade room to breathe.
Stage 2 (Break-Even): Once the price rises by 12%, the Stop is moved to trailing mode (10% distance), effectively securing a near break-even state.
Stage 3 (Profit Locking): At 25% profit, the trailing stop tightens to 8% to lock in gains.
Stage 4 (Parabolic Mode): At 40% profit, the trailing stop tightens further to 5% to capture the peak of parabolic moves.
3. Dual Exit Mechanism The strategy exits a position if EITHER of the following happens:
Stop Loss Hit: Price falls below the dynamic red line (Risk Engine).
Dead Cross: The trend structure breaks (e.g., SMA 25 crosses under SMA 50), signaling a momentum loss even if the Stop Loss wasn't hit.
4. "High-Water Mark" Re-Entry To avoid "whipsaws" in choppy markets, the script does not re-enter immediately after a stop-out.
It marks the highest price of the previous trade (Green Dotted Line).
A Re-Entry only occurs if the price breaks above this previous high (showing renewed strength) AND the long-term trend is bullish (Price > SMA 200).
Visuals:
SMAs: 25 (Yellow), 50 (Orange), 100 (Blue), 200 (White).
Red Line: Visualizes the dynamic Stop Loss level.
Green Dots: Visualizes the target price needed for a valid re-entry.
Settings: All parameters (SMA lengths, Stop Loss percentages, Staging triggers) are fully customizable in the settings menu to fit different assets (Crypto, Stocks, Forex) and timeframes.
Ratchet Exit Trend Strategy with VIX FilterThis strategy is a trend-following system designed specifically for volatile markets. Instead of focusing solely on the "perfect entry," this script emphasizes intelligent trade management using a custom **"Ratchet Exit System."**
Additionally, it integrates a volatility filter based on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) to minimize risk during extreme market phases.
### 🎯 The Concept: Ratchet Exit
The "Ratchet" system operates like a mechanical ratchet tool: the Stop Loss can only move in one direction (up, for long trades) and "locks" into specific stages. The goal is to give the trade "room to breathe" initially to avoid being stopped out by noise, then aggressively reduce risk as the trade moves into profit.
The exit logic moves through 3 distinct phases:
1. **Phase 0 (Initial Risk):** At the start of the trade, a wide Stop Loss is set (Default: 10%) to tolerate normal market volatility.
2. **Phase 1 (Risk Reduction):** Once the trade reaches a specific floating profit (Default: +10%), the Stop Loss is raised and "pinned" to a fixed value (Default: -8% from entry). This drastically reduces risk while keeping the trade alive.
3. **Phase 2 (Trailing Mode):** If the trend extends to a higher profit zone (Default: +15%), the Stop switches to a dynamic Trailing Mode. It follows the **Highest High** at a fixed percentage distance (Default: 8%).
### 🛡️ VIX Filter & Panic Exit
High volatility is often the enemy of trend-following strategies.
* **Entry Filter:** The system will not enter new positions if the VIX is above a user-defined threshold (Default: 32). This helps avoid entering "falling knife" markets.
* **Panic Exit:** If the VIX spikes above the threshold (32) while a trade is open, the position is closed immediately to protect capital (Emergency Exit).
### 📈 Entry Signals
The strategy trades **LONG only** and uses Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) to identify trends:
* **Golden Cross:** SMA 25 crosses over SMA 50.
* **3-Bar Breakouts:** A confirmation logic where the price must close above the SMA 50, 100, or 200 for 3 consecutive bars.
### ⚙️ Settings (Inputs)
All parameters are fully customizable via the settings menu:
* **SMAs:** Lengths for the trend indicators (Default: 25, 50, 100, 200).
* **VIX Filter:** Toggle the filter on/off and adjust the panic threshold.
* **Ratchet Settings:** Percentages for Initial Stop, Trigger Levels for Stages 1 & 2, and the Trailing Distance.
### ⚠️ Technical Note & Risk Warning

Iron Bot Statistical Trend Filter📌 Iron Bot Statistical Trend Filter
📌 Overview
Iron Bot Statistical Trend Filter is an advanced trend filtering strategy that combines statistical methods with technical analysis.
By leveraging Z-score and Fibonacci levels, this strategy quantitatively analyzes market trends to provide high-precision entry signals.
Additionally, it includes an optional EMA filter to enhance trend reliability.
Risk management is reinforced with Stop Loss (SL) and four Take Profit (TP) levels, ensuring a balanced approach to risk and reward.
📌 Key Features
🔹 1. Statistical Trend Filtering with Z-Score
This strategy calculates the Z-score to measure how much the price deviates from its historical mean.
Positive Z-score: Indicates a statistically high price, suggesting a strong uptrend.
Negative Z-score: Indicates a statistically low price, signaling a potential downtrend.
Z-score near zero: Suggests a ranging market with no strong trend.
By using the Z-score as a filter, market noise is reduced, leading to more reliable entry signals.
🔹 2. Fibonacci Levels for Trend Reversal Detection
The strategy integrates Fibonacci retracement levels to identify potential reversal points in the market.
High Trend Level (Fibo 23.6%): When the price surpasses this level, an uptrend is likely.
Low Trend Level (Fibo 78.6%): When the price falls below this level, a downtrend is expected.
Trend Line (Fibo 50%): Acts as a midpoint, helping to assess market balance.
This allows traders to visually confirm trend strength and turning points, improving entry accuracy.
🔹 3. EMA Filter for Trend Confirmation (Optional)
The strategy includes an optional 200 EMA (Exponential Moving Average) filter for trend validation.
Price above 200 EMA: Indicates a bullish trend (long entries preferred).
Price below 200 EMA: Indicates a bearish trend (short entries preferred).
Enabling this filter reduces false signals and improves trend-following accuracy.
🔹 4. Multi-Level Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) Management
To ensure effective risk management, the strategy includes four Take Profit levels and a Stop Loss:
Stop Loss (SL): Automatically closes trades when the price moves against the position by a certain percentage.
TP1 (+0.75%): First profit-taking level.
TP2 (+1.1%): A higher probability profit target.
TP3 (+1.5%): Aiming for a stronger trend move.
TP4 (+2.0%): Maximum profit target.
This system secures profits at different stages and optimizes risk-reward balance.
🔹 5. Automated Long & Short Trading Logic
The strategy is built using Pine Script®’s strategy.entry() and strategy.exit(), allowing fully automated trading.
Long Entry:
Price is above the trend line & high trend level.
Z-score is positive (indicating an uptrend).
(Optional) Price is also above the EMA for stronger confirmation.
Short Entry:
Price is below the trend line & low trend level.
Z-score is negative (indicating a downtrend).
(Optional) Price is also below the EMA for stronger confirmation.
This logic helps filter out unnecessary trades and focus only on high-probability entries.

Temporary Help Services Jobs - Trend Allocation StrategyThis strategy is designed to capitalize on the economic trends represented by the Temporary Help Services (TEMPHELPS) index, which is published by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED). Temporary Help Services Jobs are often regarded as a leading indicator of labor market conditions, as changes in temporary employment levels frequently precede broader employment trends.
Methodology:
Data Source: The strategy uses the FRED dataset TEMPHELPS for monthly data on temporary help services.
Trend Definition:
Uptrend: When the current month's value is greater than the previous month's value.
Downtrend: When the current month's value is less than the previous month's value.
Entry Condition: A long position is opened when an uptrend is detected, provided no position is currently held.
Exit Condition: The long position is closed when a downtrend is detected.
Scientific Basis:
The TEMPHELPS index serves as a leading economic indicator, as noted in studies analyzing labor market cyclicality (e.g., Katz & Krueger, 1999). Temporary employment is often considered a proxy for broader economic conditions, particularly in predicting recessions or recoveries. Incorporating this index into trading strategies allows for aligning trades with potential macroeconomic shifts, as suggested by research on employment trends and market performance (Autor, 2001; Valetta & Bengali, 2013).
Usage:
This strategy is best suited for long-term investors or macroeconomic trend followers who wish to leverage labor market signals for equity or futures trading. It operates exclusively on end-of-month data, ensuring minimal transaction costs and noise.
Advanced Bitcoin Trend Following StrategyTitle: Bitcoin Multi-Factor Trend Following Strategy
Description:
The Bitcoin Multi-Factor Trend Following Strategy is designed for traders seeking a robust, multi-factor approach to trend following in Bitcoin markets. This script combines technical indicators and statistical methods to identify trend directions, optimize entry and exit points, and manage position sizing based on volatility and leverage constraints. Key features of the strategy include:
Multi-Indicator Trend Forecasting:
This strategy employs three trend forecasting methods: range, exponential moving average (EMA), and Bollinger Bands. Each method can be independently enabled or disabled, giving traders flexibility in how trends are identified and followed.
Range Forecast : Calculates forecast based on the range (high and low) of recent prices, with optional smoothing via a Kalman filter to reduce noise.
EMA Spread Forecast : Utilizes the spread between fast and slow EMAs to gauge the trend’s strength, adjusted for volatility.
Bollinger Band Forecast : Measures the proximity of price to Bollinger Band levels to assess trend intensity.
Kalman Filter for Smoothing:
The Kalman filter is applied to price data for smoother trend estimation, particularly within the range forecast. This allows the strategy to reduce noise and focus on more reliable price signals.
Volatility-Adjusted Position Sizing:
The strategy incorporates volatility targeting to dynamically adjust position sizes based on current market conditions. Traders can set an annualized volatility target to control the risk level, with position size scaled accordingly to maintain consistent risk exposure. A maximum leverage cap ensures that position sizes do not exceed a user-defined threshold, offering an additional layer of risk control.
Dynamic Entry and Exit Points:
Entry and exit points are based on customizable thresholds that determine trend strength and are sensitive to market volatility. The script monitors changes in forecast values and automatically adjusts trades to capitalize on emerging trends or exit weakening ones. The strategy includes an option to close all open positions when trend forecasts fall below defined thresholds, ensuring an automated approach to risk management.
Backtesting and Performance Metrics:
To support strategy optimization, the script includes a backtest mode that calculates key performance metrics such as Sharpe Ratio, Buy & Hold profit, Strategy profit, Win rate, and other metrics. These metrics are displayed in a summary table directly on the chart, providing real-time insight into the strategy’s historical performance compared to a buy-and-hold approach.
Configurable Time and Date Range:
Users can specify start and end dates for the backtest period, allowing for focused backtesting over any desired timeframe. This feature enables in-depth analysis of performance across varying market conditions.
Use Case:
This strategy is best suited for experienced traders who wish to apply a structured trend-following approach in Bitcoin or other high-volatility assets. It is highly customizable, making it adaptable to various market conditions and trading styles. The combination of trend forecasting methods, volatility targeting, and automatic leverage control offers a balanced approach to capturing long-term trends while managing risk.
Parameters:
Entry Threshold: Adjusts the sensitivity of the entry point for trends. Lower values make the strategy more reactive.
Annual Volatility Target: Controls the risk level by targeting a specific annualized volatility percentage.
Max Leverage: Caps the allowable leverage for each trade.
Forecast Activations: Toggles to enable or disable the use of range, EMA, and Bollinger forecasts.
Date Range: Allows users to define the start and end dates for testing the strategy.
Notes:
This strategy is designed for educational purposes and requires thorough backtesting and optimization before live trading. Real-time performance may vary, and additional risk management practices are advised.

VAWSI and Trend Persistance Reversal Strategy SL/TPThis is a completely revamped version of my "RSI and ATR Trend Reversal Strategy."
What's New?
The RSI has been replaced with an original indicator of mine, the "VAWSI," as I've elected to call it.
The standard RSI measures a change in an RMA to determine the strength of a movement.
The VAWSI performs very similarly, except it uses another original indicator of mine, the VAWMA.
VAWMA stands for "Volume (and) ATR Weight Moving Average." It takes an average of the volume and ATR and uses the ratio of each bar to weigh a moving average of the source.
It has the same formula as an RSI, but uses the VAWMA instead of an RMA.
Next we have the Trend Persistence indicator, which is an index on how long a trend has been persisting for. It is another original indicator. It takes the max deviation the source has from lowest/highest of a specified length. It then takes a cumulative measure of that amount, measures the change, then creates a strength index with that amount.
The VAWSI is a measure of an emerging trend, and the Trend Persistence indicator is a measure of how long a trend has persisted.
Finally, the 3rd main indicator, is a slight variation of an ATR. Rather than taking the max of source - low or high- source and source - source , it instead takes the max of high-low and the absolute value of source - the previous source. It then takes the absolute value of the change of this, and normalizes it with the source.
Inputs
Minimum SL/TP ensures that the Stop Loss and Take Profit still exist in untrendy markets. This is the minimum Amount that will always be applied.
VAWSI Weight is a divided by 100 multiplier for the VAWSI. So value of 200 means it is multiplied by 2. Think of it like a percentage.
Trend Persistence weight and ATR Weight are applied the same. Higher the number, the more impactful on the final calculation it is.
Combination Mult is an outright multiplier to the final calculation. So a 2.0 = * 2.0
Trend Persistence Smoothing Length is the length of the weighted moving average applied to the Trend Persistence Strength index.
Length Cycle Decimal is a replacement of length for the script.
Here we used BlackCat1402's Dynamic Length Calculation, which can be found on his page. With his permission we have implemented it into this script. Big shout out to them for not only creating, but allowing us to use it here.
The Length Cycle Decimal is used to calculate the dynamic length. Because TradingView only allows series int for their built-in library, a lot of the baseline indicators we use have to be manually recreated as functions in the following section.
The Strategy
As usual, we use Heiken Ashi values for calculations.
We begin by establishing the minimum SL/TP for use later.
Next we determine the amount of bars back since the last crossup or crossdown of our threshold line.
We then perform some normalization of our multipliers. We want a larger trend or larger VAWSI amount to narrow the threshold, so we have 1 divide them. This way, a higher reading outputs a smaller number and vice versa. We do this for both Trend Persistence, and the VAWSI.
The VAWSI we also normalize, where rather than it being a 0-100 reading of trend direction and strength, we absolute it so that as long as a trend is strong, regardless of direction, it will have a higher reading. With these normalized values, we add them together and simply subtract the ATR measurement rather than having 1 divide it.
Here you can see how the different measurements add up. A lower final number suggests imminent reversal, and a higher final number suggests an untrendy or choppy market.
ATR is in orange, the Trend Persistence is blue, the VAWSI is purple, and the final amount is green.
We take this final number and depending on the current trend direction, we multiply it by either the Highest or Lowest source since the last crossup or crossdown. We then take the highest or lowest of this calculation, and have it be our Stop Loss or Take Profit. This number cannot be higher/lower than the previous source to ensure a rapid spike doesn't immediately close your position on a still continuing trend. As well, the threshold cannot be higher/ lower than the the specified Stop Loss and Take Profit
Only after the source has fully crossed these lines do we consider it a crossup or crossdown. We confirm this with a barstate.isconfirmed to prevent repainting. Next, each time there is a crossup or crossdown we enter a long or a short respectively and plot accordingly.
I have the strategy configured to "process on order close" to ensure an accurate backtesting result. You could also set this to false and add a 1 bar delay to the "if crossup" and "if crossdown" lines under strategy so that it is calculated based on the open of the next bar.
Final Notes
The amounts have been preconfigured for performance on RIOT 5 Minute timeframe. Other timeframes are viable as well. With a few changes to the parameters, this strategy has backtested well on NVDA, AAPL, TSLA, and AMD. I recommend before altering settings to try other timeframes first.
This script does not seem to perform nearly as well in typically untrendy and choppy markets such as crypto and forex. With some setting changes, I have seen okay results with crypto, but overfitting could be the cause there.
Thank you very much, and please enjoy.
Chande Kroll Trend Strategy (SPX, 1H) | PINEINDICATORSThe "Chande Kroll Stop Strategy" is designed to optimize trading on the SPX using a 1-hour timeframe. This strategy effectively combines the Chande Kroll Stop indicator with a Simple Moving Average (SMA) to create a robust method for identifying long entry and exit points. This detailed description will explain the components, rationale, and usage to ensure compliance with TradingView's guidelines and help traders understand the strategy's utility and application.
Objective
The primary goal of this strategy is to identify potential long trading opportunities in the SPX by leveraging volatility-adjusted stop levels and trend-following principles. It aims to capture upward price movements while managing risk through dynamically calculated stops.
Chande Kroll Stop Parameters:
Calculation Mode: Offers "Linear" and "Exponential" options for position size calculation. The default mode is "Exponential."
Risk Multiplier: An adjustable multiplier for risk management and position sizing, defaulting to 5.
ATR Period: Defines the period for calculating the Average True Range (ATR), with a default of 10.
ATR Multiplier: A multiplier applied to the ATR to set stop levels, defaulting to 3.
Stop Length: Period used to determine the highest high and lowest low for stop calculation, defaulting to 21.
SMA Length: Period for the Simple Moving Average, defaulting to 21.
Calculation Details:
ATR Calculation: ATR is calculated over the specified period to measure market volatility.
Chande Kroll Stop Calculation:
High Stop: The highest high over the stop length minus the ATR multiplied by the ATR multiplier.
Low Stop: The lowest low over the stop length plus the ATR multiplied by the ATR multiplier.
SMA Calculation: The 21-period SMA of the closing price is used as a trend filter.
Entry and Exit Conditions:
Long Entry: A long position is initiated when the closing price crosses over the low stop and is above the 21-period SMA. This condition ensures that the market is trending upward and that the entry is made in the direction of the prevailing trend.
Exit Long: The long position is exited when the closing price falls below the high stop, indicating potential downward movement and protecting against significant drawdowns.
Position Sizing:
The quantity of shares to trade is calculated based on the selected calculation mode (linear or exponential) and the risk multiplier. This ensures position size is adjusted dynamically based on current market conditions and user-defined risk tolerance.
Exponential Mode: Quantity is calculated using the formula: riskMultiplier / lowestClose * 1000 * strategy.equity / strategy.initial_capital.
Linear Mode: Quantity is calculated using the formula: riskMultiplier / lowestClose * 1000.
Execution:
When the long entry condition is met, the strategy triggers a buy signal, and a long position is entered with the calculated quantity. An alert is generated to notify the trader.
When the exit condition is met, the strategy closes the position and triggers a sell signal, accompanied by an alert.
Plotting:
Buy Signals: Indicated with an upward triangle below the bar.
Sell Signals: Indicated with a downward triangle above the bar.
Application
This strategy is particularly effective for trading the SPX on a 1-hour timeframe, capitalizing on price movements by adjusting stop levels dynamically based on market volatility and trend direction.
Default Setup
Initial Capital: $1,000
Risk Multiplier: 5
ATR Period: 10
ATR Multiplier: 3
Stop Length: 21
SMA Length: 21
Commission: 0.01

Backtesting Results
Backtesting indicates that the "Chande Kroll Stop Strategy" performs optimally on the SPX when applied to the 1-hour timeframe. The strategy's dynamic adjustment of stop levels helps manage risk effectively while capturing significant upward price movements. Backtesting was conducted with a realistic initial capital of $1,000, and commissions and slippage were included to ensure the results are not misleading.
Risk Management
The strategy incorporates risk management through dynamically calculated stop levels based on the ATR and a user-defined risk multiplier. This approach ensures that position sizes are adjusted according to market volatility, helping to mitigate potential losses. Trades are sized to risk a sustainable amount of equity, adhering to the guideline of risking no more than 5-10% per trade.
Usage Notes
Customization: Users can adjust the ATR period, ATR multiplier, stop length, and SMA length to better suit their trading style and risk tolerance.
Alerts: The strategy includes alerts for buy and sell signals to keep traders informed of potential entry and exit points.
Pyramiding: Although possible, the strategy yields the best results without pyramiding.
Justification of Components
The Chande Kroll Stop indicator and the 21-period SMA are combined to provide a robust framework for identifying long trading opportunities in trending markets. Here is why they work well together:
Chande Kroll Stop Indicator: This indicator provides dynamic stop levels that adapt to market volatility, allowing traders to set logical stop-loss levels that account for current price movements. It is particularly useful in volatile markets where fixed stops can be easily hit by random price fluctuations. By using the ATR, the stop levels adjust based on recent market activity, ensuring they remain relevant in varying market conditions.
21-Period SMA: The 21-period SMA acts as a trend filter to ensure trades are taken in the direction of the prevailing market trend. By requiring the closing price to be above the SMA for long entries, the strategy aligns itself with the broader market trend, reducing the risk of entering trades against the overall market direction. This helps to avoid false signals and ensures that the trades are in line with the dominant market movement.
Combining these two components creates a balanced approach that captures trending price movements while protecting against significant drawdowns through adaptive stop levels. The Chande Kroll Stop ensures that the stops are placed at levels that reflect current volatility, while the SMA filter ensures that trades are only taken when the market is trending in the desired direction.
Concepts Underlying Calculations
ATR (Average True Range): Used to measure market volatility, which informs the stop levels.
SMA (Simple Moving Average): Used to filter trades, ensuring positions are taken in the direction of the trend.
Chande Kroll Stop: Combines high and low price levels with ATR to create dynamic stop levels that adapt to market conditions.
Risk Disclaimer
Trading involves substantial risk, and most day traders incur losses. The "Chande Kroll Stop Strategy" is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Users are advised to adjust and personalize this trading strategy to better match their individual trading preferences and risk tolerance.
Pivot Percentile Trend - Strategy [presentTrading]
█ Introduction and How it is Different
The "Pivot Percentile Trend - Strategy" from PresentTrading represents a paradigm shift in technical trading strategies. What sets this strategy apart is its innovative use of pivot percentiles, a method that goes beyond traditional indicator-based analyses. Unlike standard strategies that might depend on single-dimensional signals, this approach takes a multi-layered view of market movements, blending percentile calculations with SuperTrend indicators for a more nuanced and dynamic market analysis.
This strategy stands out for its ability to process multiple data points across various timeframes and pivot lengths, thereby capturing a broader and more detailed picture of market trends. It's not just about following the price; it's about understanding its position in the context of recent historical highs and lows, offering a more profound insight into potential market movements.
BTC 6h L/S
Where traditional methods might react to market changes, the Pivot Percentile Trend strategy anticipates them, using a calculated approach to identify trend strengths and weaknesses. This foresight gives traders a significant advantage, allowing for more strategic decision-making and potentially increasing the chances of successful trades.
In essence, this strategy introduces a more comprehensive and proactive approach to trading, harnessing the power of advanced percentile calculations combined with the robustness of SuperTrend indicators. It's a strategy designed for traders who seek a deeper understanding of market dynamics and a more calculated approach to their trading decisions.

█ Strategy, How It Works: Detailed Explanation
🔶 Percentile Calculations
- The strategy employs percentile calculations to assess the relative position of current market prices against historical data.
- For a set of lengths (e.g., `length * 1`, `length * 2`, up to `length * 7`), it calculates the 75th percentile for high values (`percentilesHigh`) and the 25th percentile for low values (`percentilesLow`).
- These percentiles provide a sense of where the current price stands compared to recent price ranges.
Length - 10
Length - 15
🔶 SuperTrend Indicator
- The SuperTrend indicator is a key component, providing trend direction signals.
- It uses the `currentTrendValue`, derived from the difference between bull and bear strengths calculated from the percentile data.
* used the Supertrend toolkit by @EliCobra
🔶 Trend Strength Counts
- The strategy calculates counts of bullish and bearish indicators based on comparisons between the current high and low against high and low percentiles.
- `countBull` and `countBear` track the number of times the current high is above the high percentiles and the current low is below the low percentiles, respectively.
- Weak bullish (`weakBullCount`) and bearish (`weakBearCount`) counts are also determined by how often the current lows and highs fall within the percentile range.
*The idea of this strength counts mainly comes from 'Trend Strength Over Time' @federalTacos5392b
🔶 Trend Value Calculation
- The `currentTrendValue` is a crucial metric, computed as `bullStrength - bearStrength`.
- It indicates the market's trend direction, where a positive value suggests a bullish trend and a negative value indicates a bearish trend.
🔶 Trade Entry and Exit Logic
- The entry points for trades are determined by the combination of the trend value and the direction indicated by the SuperTrend indicator.
- For a long entry (`shouldEnterLong`), the `currentTrendValue` must be positive and the SuperTrend indicator should show a downtrend.
- Conversely, for a short entry (`shouldEnterShort`), the `currentTrendValue` should be negative with the SuperTrend indicating an uptrend.
- The strategy closes positions when these conditions reverse.
█ Trade Direction
The strategy is versatile, allowing traders to choose their preferred trading direction: long, short, or both. This flexibility enables traders to tailor their strategies to their market outlook and risk appetite.
█ Default Settings and Customization
1. Trade Direction: Selectable as Long, Short, or Both, affecting the type of trades executed.
2. Indicator Source: Pivot Percentile Calculations, key for identifying market trends and reversals.
3. Lengths for Percentile Calculation: Various configurable lengths, influencing the scope of trend analysis.
4. SuperTrend Settings: ATR Length 20, Multiplier 18, affecting indicator sensitivity and trend detection.
5. Style Options: Custom colors for bullish (green) and bearish (red) trends, aiding visual interpretation.
6. Additional Settings: Includes contrarian signals and UI enhancements, offering strategic and visual flexibility.
Master Trend ReversalThe 'Master Trend Reversal' strategy is an innovative approach to detecting trend reversals in the market. This strategy harnesses the power of 'Pin Bars', a specific type of candlestick, to pinpoint potential trading opportunities.
Based on the properties of Pin Bars, this strategy identifies scenarios where the market is likely to reverse its trend. In particular, it seeks out Pin Bars that are significantly longer than their surrounding candles, a length determined by the 'Pin Bar Size (%)' parameter.
When a bullish Pin Bar is detected (i.e., the closing price is lower than the opening price, and the gap between the opening and low prices exceeds the specified Pin Bar size), the strategy goes long. Conversely, upon identifying a bearish Pin Bar (the closing price is higher than the opening price, and the difference between the high and opening prices is greater than the specified Pin Bar size), the strategy goes short.
Furthermore, 'Master Trend Reversal' incorporates an efficient risk management mechanism via stop-loss orders. The stop-loss level is calculated based on the average price of the position and the 'Stop Loss Percentage (%)' as specified by the user.
Hence, the 'Master Trend Reversal' strategy offers a unique approach to capitalize on market trend reversals while limiting potential losses through the use of stop-loss orders. This combination of precise trend reversal detection and robust risk management makes this strategy particularly useful for traders seeking to maximize their profits while effectively controlling their risk exposure.
Please remember that, like any trading strategy, 'Master Trend Reversal' does not guarantee success and should be used as part of a holistic risk management approach in the markets.
Bull Trend Filtered StochRSI (BTFS)Ride Bull Trends Via Stochastic with Special Rules for Heavy Bullish Bias
TLDR: Long Only Trend Indicator Where you are always entered Long if the stochastic is over the lower band line and the price is above the Donchian Chanel high. Exit when Stochastic RSI is below the lower band.
Indicators:
Filter = Trend/Bullish indicator is Donchian of ema(high) this is set as the highest ema(high, 6) in the last 30 candles. this can be adjusted to fit the market as desired.
**indicator prints green background when the filter condition is satisfied***
Entry Exit = enter when the Stoch RSI is above the given lower trend band. This value is set at 35 but can be adjusted according to risk tolerance and market conditions.
Logic:
this indicator allows a trader to be present during bullish/parabolic trends by only triggering if the close is > than the highest 6 candle average high over the last 30 candles. This filter requires the market to be in a generally bullish posture. If the market is in this condition the stochastic RSI indicator value offers a good gauge of price action and only goes significantly down if price trends below the average range of the rsi period. This filters out noise and keeps a trader from over trading on inconsequential corrections while responding fairly quickly to changes in general trend direction. the response is fast enough to produce an unprofitable amount of false signals if the bull market filter is not implemented. However when used in combination the signals return desirable results in bull trending markets.
Hope this Helps. Happy Trades.

EURUSD COT Trend StrategyThis is a long term/investment type of strategy designed to have a good idea about where the big trend direction is headed.
Its logic, its made entirely on the COT report, mainly from looking into the net non comercial positions aka the speculators.
For bullish trend we look that the difference between long non comercial vs short non comercial is higher than 0
For bearish trend we look that the difference between long non comercial vs short non comercial is lower than 0.
This is mainly as an educational tool, for a full strategy, I recommend implement other things into it, like technical analysis or risk management.
If you have any questions, please let me know !
Classic Long Term Trend Following SystemThis is a classic long term trend following system.
The breakout period is 50 days instead of 20 and the moving average crossover are 40 and 120.
The moving averages are also exponential instead of simple.
The stoploss is 4 ATRs away from the price.
Recommendations:
Donchian Channels settings > 50 days
Moving Averages > 40 and 120, 80 and 140
Important to note:
My first strategy, DC Breakout System | This is simplicity at its finest, is best used on the crypto market and this one for stocks, commodities, currencies, etc. Those markets tend to trend a lot longer than crypto do.
HYE Trend Hunter [Strategy]*** Stratejinin Türkçe ve İngilizce açıklaması aşağıya eklenmiştir.
HYE Trend Hunter
In this strategy, two of the most basic data (price and volume) necessary for detecting trends as early as possible and entering the trade on time are used. In this context, the approaches of some classical and new generation indicators using price and volume have been taken into account.
The strategy is prepared to generate buy signals only. The following steps were followed to generate the buy and exit signals.
1-) First of all, the two most basic data of the strategy, “slow leading line” and “fast leading line” need to be calculated. For this, we use the formula of the “senkou span A” line of the indicator known as the Ichimoku Cloud. We also need to calculate lines known as tenkan sen and kijun sen in ichimoku because they are used in the calculation of this formula.
The high and low values of the candles are taken into account when calculating the Tenkansen, Kijunsen and Senkou Span A lines in the Ichimoku cloud. In this strategy, the highest and lowest values of the periodic VWAP are taken into account when calculating the "slow leading line" and "fast leading line". (The periodic vwap formula was coded and made available by @neolao on tradingviev). Also, in the ichimoku cloud, while the Senkou Span A line is plotted 26 periods into the future, we consider the values of the fast and slow leading lines in the last candle in this strategy.
ORIGINAL ICHIMOKU SPAN A FORMULA
Tenkansen = (Highest high of the last 9 candles + Lowest low of the last 9 candles) / 2
Kijunsen = (Highest high of the last 26 candles + Lowest low of the last 26 candles) / 2
Senkou Span A = Tenkansen + Kijunsen / 2
HYE TREND HUNTER SPAN A FORMULA*
Tenkansen = (Highest VWAP of the last 9 candles + Lowest VWAP of the last 9 candles) / 2
Kijunsen = (Highest VWAP of the last 26 candles + Lowest VWAP of the last 26 candles) / 2
Senkou Span A = Tenkansen + Kijunsen / 2
* We use the original ichimoku values 9 and 26 for the slow line, and 5 and 13 for the fast line. These settings can be changed from the strategy settings.
2-) At this stage, we have 2 lines that we obtained by using the formula of the ichimoku cloud, one of the most classical trend indicators, and by including the volume-weighted average price.
a-) Fast Leading Line (5-13)
b-) Slow Leading Line (9-26)
For the calculation we will do soon, we get a new value by taking the average of these two lines. Using this value, which is the average of the fast and slow leading lines, we plot the Bollinger Bands indicator, which is known as one of the most classic volatility indicators of technical analysis. Thus, we are trying to understand whether there is a volatility change in the market, which may mean the presence of a trend start. We will use this data in the calculation of buy-sell signals.
In the classical Bollinger Bands calculation, the standard deviation is calculated by applying a multiplier at the rate determined by the user (2 is used in the original settings) to the moving average calculated with the “closing price”, and this value is added or subtracted from the moving average and upper band and lower band lines are drawn.
In the HYE Trend Hunter Strategy, instead of the moving average calculated with the closing price in the Bollinger Band calculation, we consider the average of the fast and slow leading lines calculated in the 1st step and draw the Bollinger upper and lower bands accordingly. We use the values of 2 and 20 as the standard deviation and period, as in the original settings. These settings can also be changed from the strategy settings.
3-) At this stage, we have fast and slow leading lines trying to understand the trend direction using VWAP, and Bollinger lower and upper bands calculated by the average of these lines.
In this step, we will use another tool that will help us understand whether the invested market (forex, crypto, stocks) is gaining momentum in volume. The Time Segmented Volume indicator was created by the Worden Brothers Inc. and coded by @liw0 and @vitelot on tradingview. The TSV indicator segments the price and volume of an investment instrument according to certain time periods and makes calculations on comparing these price and volume data to reveal the buying and selling periods.
To trade in the buy direction on the HYE Trend Hunter Strategy, we look for the TSV indicator to be above 0 and above its exponential moving average value. TSV period and exponential moving average period settings (13 and 7) can also be changed in the strategy settings.
BUY SIGNAL
1-) Fast Leading Line value should be higher than the Fast Leading Line value in the previous candle.
2-) Slow Leading Line value should be higher than the Slow Leading Line value in the previous candle.
3-) Candle Closing value must be higher than the Upper Bollinger Band.
4-) TSV value must be greater than 0.
5-) TSV value must be greater than TSVEMA value.
EXIT SIGNAL
1-) Fast Leading Line value should be lower than the Fast Leading Line value in the previous candle.
2-) Slow Leading Line value should be lower than the Slow Leading Line value in the previous candle.
TIPS AND WARNINGS
1-) The standard settings of the strategy work better in higher timeframes (4-hour, daily, etc.). For lower timeframes, you should change the strategy settings and find the best value for yourself.
2-) All lines (fast and slow leading lines and Bollinger bands) except TSV are displayed on the strategy. For a simpler view, you can hide these lines in the strategy settings.
3-) You can see the color changes of the fast and slow leading lines as well as you can specify a single color for these lines in the strategy settings.
4-) It is an strategy for educational and experimental purposes. It cannot be considered as investment advice. You should be careful and make your own risk assessment when opening real market trades using this strategy.

ORJİNAL ICHIMOKU SPAN A FORMÜLÜ
Tenkansen = (Son 9 mumun en yüksek değeri + Son 9 mumun en düşük değeri) / 2
Kijunsen = (Son 26 mumun en yüksek değeri + Son 26 mumun en düşük değeri) / 2
Senkou Span A = Tenkansen + Kijunsen / 2
HYE TREND HUNTER SPAN A FORMÜLÜ*
Tenkansen = (Son 9 mumun en yüksek VWAP değeri + Son 9 mumun en düşük VWAP değeri) / 2
Kijunsen = (Son 26 mumun en yüksek VWAP değeri + Son 26 mumun en düşük VWAP değeri) / 2
Senkou Span A = Tenkansen + Kijunsen / 2
a-) Hızlı Öncü Çizgi (5-13)

This is a very effective trend strategy.
Strategy principle
Constructs the trailing ATR stop above or below the price, and switches directions when the source price breaks the ATR stop.
Uses the Average Directional Index (ADX) to switch between ATR multipliers. The higher multiplier is used when the ADX is rising, and the lower ATR multiplier is used with the ADX is falling.
This ADX criteria further widens the gap between the source price and the trailing ATR stop when the price is trending, and lessens the gap between the ATR and the price when then price is not trending.
The ATR-ADX stop is effectively a double adapative stop that trails the price,by both adapting to the true range of the price, and the average directional change.
HOW TO USE
set long position when a green arrow appears in the chart.
When the stop is below the price (long trade) the value never decreases until the price intersects the stop, and it reverses to being above the price (short trade)。
set short position when a red arrow appears in the chart.
When the stop is above the price it will never increase until it is intersected by the price. As the true range and ADX change, the stop will move more quickly or more slowly.
For the long position and the short direction, you can set the stop profit & stop loss or trailing profit stop & trailing stop loss respectively.
When a purple arrow appears to close a position, an aggressive trader can go in the opposite direction when it is purple.

ATR-ADX压力线通过适应价格的真实波动范围和平均趋向变动达到跟随价格的双适应性止损目的。当做多时,止损线低于价格,并随价格升高,直到止损线与价格相交,然后反转至高于价格,此时启动空头交易;

ABOUT THIS INDICATOR
As the name suggests, 'Supertrend' is a trend-following indicator that is notably popular here on Tradingview and elsewhere. It does a remarkably great job of recognizing a trend (in progress) and it will signal you to initiate a position when the trend is clear. Perhaps the greater value of Supertrend is that it helps keep you in your position until that trend is over.
WHAT'S THE BEST ATR PERIOD AND MULTIPLIER?
There are two important data points we must enter for Supertrend to work, namely the 'period (ATR number of candles or days)' and the 'multiplier (value by which ATR is multiplied)' BTW, in case you don't know, ATR signals the degree of price volatility. A common default setting is 10 for the ATR period and 3 for the multiplier.
SORRY, BUT THE MOVIE STARTED HALF HOUR AGO...
Unfortunately Supertrend has a couple of big weaknesses. Generally, it fails in a sideways-moving market and when it does detect a trend, the signal to get in (or out) comes rather late. It's like someone telling you about a great movie they're watching, but by the time you start watching, one-third of the movie is over... bummer, right?
HOW TO IMPROVE SUPERTREND
One solution is to combine Supertrend with other indicators such as MACD, Parabolic SAR, RSI, etc. And another solution is to experiment (backtest) with the Period and Multiplier settings for the asset and timeframe you are considering for trade.
For the STANDARD SETTINGS in this "Super Smart SuperTrend" indicator, I have set 9 for the ATR and 2.2 for the multiplier as default after backtesting on Bitcoin and other crypto (mostly in the 15 minute to 6 HOUR timeframe). Of course you can change this easily to any ATR period and Multiplier you like.
BUT... WHY NOT GET SMART?
I started thinking, it might be best if we let the market determine candle-by-candle what the settings should be. If everyone says that Supertrend works best in conjunction with other indicators, why not do our "conjuncting" programmatically (ie: automatically) sorta like artificial intelligence!
HOW IT WORKS
So here's what I did. Using data from other indicators I came up with a SMART SUPERTREND that auto-adjusts as the market changes. It still has settings so you can fine tune it for specific assets and timeframes, but once the settings are entered, it auto-adjusts as the market and prices evolve.
With "Super Smart SuperTrend" there is no ATR period setting (that is determined programmatically) and now there are TWO multipliers you can experiment with... (a lower one set at 1.7 default and a higher one at 2.5). These multiplier settings create a multiplier range that can be used programmatically to adjust the multiplier as the market and prices evolve.
THE RESULTS
Across all time frames and assets I've tested, I generally get better results. Better entries, better exits and well defined trends. In comparison with a STANDARD Supertrend, it is not radically different, but when it does differ "Super Smart SuperTrend: is almost always better. All this is substantiated by backtesting of course.
SAMPLE BACKTEST RESULTS (BTC/USD)
*Using Indicator Defaults*
TIMEFRAME STANDARD RESULTS SUPER SMART RESULTS
% Profitable | Profit Factor % Profitable | Profit Factor
DAY 58.33% 9.38 75.00% 10.77
4 HOUR 78.43% 18.22 80.95% 21.78
1 HOUR 74.11% 8.98 70.13% 9.34
15 MIN 58.10% 6.10 71.43% 9.48
Keep in mind that "Profit Factor" is key. It basically tells you what you'd make for every ONE DOLLAR invested by consistently trading with the backtested parameters.

Lancelot vstop intraday trending strategyDear all,
Free strategy again.
I found using 3 volatility stop with different settings could be very helpful when trading an intraday trending market.
With the ATR setting or 5, 10, 15, we can weed out many false break.
Vstop setting is OHLC4.
On the other hand, this strategy also utilize Renko as part of the strategy, so you could say this strategy is mainly an intraday break out trend following strategy.
Works well on BTCUSD XBTUSD, as well as other major liquid alt Pairs.
And lastly,
Save Hong Kong, the revolution of our times.
