Strategy Myth-Busting #5 - POKI+GTREND+ADX - [MYN]This is part of a new series we are calling "Strategy Myth-Busting" where we take open public manual trading strategies and automate them. The goal is to not only validate the authenticity of the claims but to provide an automated version for traders who wish to trade autonomously.
Our fifth one we are automating is one of the strategies from "The Best 3 Buy And Sell Indicators on Tradingview + Confirmation Indicators ( The Golden Ones ))" from "Online Trading Signals (Scalping Channel)". No formal backtesting was done by them and resuructo messaged me asking if we could validate their claims.
Originally, we mimic verbatim the settings Online Trading Signals was using however weren't getting promising results. So before we stopped there we thought we might want to see if this could be improved on. So we adjusted the Renko Assignment modifier from ATR to Traditional and adjusted the value to be higher from 30 to 47. We also decided to try adding another signal confirmation to eliminate some of the ranged market conditions so we choose our favorite, ADX . Also, given we are using this on a higher time-frame we adjusted the G-Channel Trend detection source from close to OHLC4 to get better average price action indication and more accurate trend direction.
This strategy uses a combination of 2 open-source public indicators:
poki buy and sell Take profit and stop loss by RafaelZioni
G-Channel Trend Detection by jaggedsoft
Trading Rules
15m - 4h timeframe. We saw best results at the recommended 1 hour timeframe.
Long Entry:
When POKI triggers a buy signal
When G-Channel Trend Detection is in an upward trend (Green)
ADX Is above 25
Short Entry:
When POKI triggers a sell signal
When G-Channel Trend Detection is in an downward trend (red)
ADX Is above 25
If you know of or have a strategy you want to see myth-busted or just have an idea for one, please feel free to message me.
Trend
Flying Dragon Trend StrategyFlying Dragon Trend Strategy can be used to indicate the trend on all timeframes by finetuning the input settings.
The Flying Dragon Trend family includes both the strategy and the indicator, where the strategy supports of selecting the optimal set of inputs for the indicator in each scenario. Highly recommended to get familiar with the strategy first to get the best out of the indicator.
Flying Dragon Trend plots the trend bands into the ribbon, where the colours indicate the trend of each band. The plotting of the bands can be turned off in the input settings. Based on the user selectable Risk Level the strategy is executed when the price crosses the certain moving average line, or at the Lowest risk level all the bands have the same colour.
The main idea is to combine two different moving averages to cross each other at the possible trend pivot point, but trying to avoid any short term bounces to affect the trend indication. The ingenuity resides in the combination of selected moving average types, lengths and especially the offsets. The trend bands give visual hint for the user while observing the price interaction with the bands, one could say that when "the Dragon swallows the candles the jaws wide open", then there is high possibility for the pivot. The leading moving average should be fast while the lagging moving average should be, well, lagging behind the leading one. There is Offset selections for each moving average, three for leading one and one for the lagging one, those are where the magic happens. After user has selected preferred moving average types and lengths, by tuning each offset the optimal sweet spot for each timeframe and equity will be found. The default values are good enough starting points for longer (4h and up) timeframes, but shorter timeframes (minutes to hours) require different combination of settings, some hints are provided in tooltips. Basically the slower the "leading" moving average (like HMA75 or HMA115) and quicker the "lagging" moving average (like SMA12 or SMA5) become, the better performance at the Lowest risk level on minute scales. This "reversed" approach at the minute scales is shown also as reversed colour for the "lagging" moving average trend band, which seems to make it work surprisingly well.
The Flying Dragon Trend does not necessarily work well on zig zag and range bounce scenarios without additional finetuning of the input settings to fit the current condition.

Trend Movement S1-TMIdea:
This script combines: Moving Average (MA), Directional Movement (DMI), MACD
When condition of long or short position from all mentioned indicator are met script opens position. Once trend changes, it closes the position.
Then add some filter conditions to avoid noise.
Concept:
(Note that we take the close to get the closing price)
-Using only cross up down with MA will give a reversal point, but the downside is that it can be noisy.
-MACD will show the current trend detected by cross point.
-Then the +DI , -DI , ADX values are taken into account to confirm the price direction and movement strength.
-This strategy solves this problem by combining 2 more moving averages called 2 trend lines 1 long and 1 short. When the short line crosses up, it will show that the price trend is increasing (at this time the background between these 2 lines will be green) and vice versa (red). To determine if the current trend is bullish or bearish . This will avoid buying when price tend to go down.
-However, there will be many points where some more complex logic is needed. It will add conditions and calculate the probabilities before triggering the signals (You can see them through the item symbols B1, B2, ... ).
How it works:
1. The thin line is stand for short term moving average, and the thick line is stand for long term moving average.
If thin lines cross the thick lines, their color and background will turn green, the price is tend to go up (Uptrend).
If thin lines cross down thick lines, their color and background will turn red, the price is tend to go down (Downtrend).
2. Ability to check the checkbox in setting to show the Golden/De*ath cross.
The yellow symbol "+" is the Golden cross.
The black symbol "+" is the De*th cross.
3. Buy and Sell are show clearly on strategy as the buy and sell point. The default source from bar is CLOSE
4. Setting "Buy only" it using for spot market.
5. When "Not buy in down trend" is checked, it will not trigger buy when in down trend (thin lines cross down thick lines like description in 1.)
6. Setting High spread will call Close buy when it match the High spread bar with the High spread % value
7. It provides setting "Back test From date/To date" for backtest feature. You can set "BacktestFrom date" as the begin of test period. If check box "Using To Date" is check: "Backtest To Date" will be the end of test period.
Suitable time frames:
4h, 1D, 1W
* Please note that this logic does not attempt to predict future prices or 100% accurate signal; Strategy Tester are available to test the profitability of this strategy.

Open DriveOpen Drive is a market profile concept introduced by Jim Dalton. It occurs when the price moves directionally and persistently for the first 30 minutes from the cash market open.
It is necessary to use 30-minute bars as there needs to be enough time to measure an extreme move of the cash open. This means there will be fewer trades than other strategies using faster time periodicities.
The script finds open drives from these time points 0700/ 0800 and 1300/1430.
The entry signal also has a breakout threshold using the 5-bar high and 5-bar low to only take trades moving away from the prior 5-bar range. This weeds out most mid-range trades and small range expansion bars.
If the price has had a strong move from the open and has broken either below the prior 5-bar low or above the prior 5-bar high by an amount equal to the prior 5-bar range a trade is entered in the direction of the move.
The Exit criteria; exit after 3 bars which is 90mins when using a 30min periodicity.
Note, this script is shared to show that momentum generated on or around the cash open tends to persist. The entry and exits of this strategy are quite naive but there are plenty of ways to take more aggressive entries on faster time frames when an open drive occurs. The times chosen for this strategy will suit stock index futures mainly. The user can experiment with other futures products and their corresponding pit/ cash open hours.
Google "open drive market profile" for more information on open drives and market profile concepts.
Happy trading!
M0PB (Momentum Pullback)Long/short strategy that identifies extreme readings on the rsi as a *momentum signal*, unlike most RSI strategies the script will look to buy or sell the first pullback in the direction of the extreme RSI reading.
Enters positions on the first pullback to the 5ema(low)/ 5ema(high) and exits at rolling 12 bar high/ low. The rolling high/ low feature means that if the price enters into a prolonged consolidation the profit target will begin to reduce with each new bar. The best trades tend to work within 2-6 bars.
Built for use on 5 min intervals on FX, Indexes, and Crypto. Lower than 5 minute time frames tend to be noisier and mean more commissions and a higher risk of slippage so the suggested timeframe is 5 mins.
Hard stop is X ATR (users can experiment with this) from the position entry price. This can be adjusted in user inputs.
There is a lot of slack left in entries and exits but the overall strategy is fairly robust across timeframes and markets and has between 60%-70% win rate with larger winners.
Signals that occur from economic news volatility are best avoided.
Wunder Trend Reversal botWunder Trend Reversal bot
1. Wunder Trend Reversal Bot - this has only one goal to find a reversal of the trend.
2. The strategy determines, based on the specified value for the filter, a market reversal based on the price actions of the previous bars.
3. A short EMA is used to filter false signals after the reversal signal was received. Crossing the EMA and changing its direction confirms the trend change.
4. There are 2 ways to calculate stop loss and take profit. You can choose one of them:
- Classic stop loss and take profit in a fixed percentage
- ATR stop loss and take pro
5. ATR uses risk reward (R:R) to calculate take profit. The script calculates the risk-reward based on a certain stop loss level and uses it to calculate the take profit
6. A function for calculating risk on the portfolio (your deposit) has been added to the script. When this option is enabled, you get a calculation of the entry amount in dollars relative to your Stop Loss. In the settings, you can select the risk percentage on your portfolio. The loss will be calculated from the amount that will be displayed on the chart.
For example. Deposit - $1000, you set the risk to 1%. SL 5%. Entry volume will be $200. The loss at SL will be $10.10$ this is your 1% risk or 1% of the deposit.
Important! The risk per trade must be less than the Stop Loss value. If the risk is greater than SL, then you should use leverage.
The amount of funds entering the trade is calculated in dollars. This option was created if you want to send the dollar amount from Tradingview to the exchange. However, putting your volume in dollars you get the incorrect net profit and drawdown indication in the backtest results, as TradingView calculates the backtest volume in contracts.
To display the correct net profit and drawdown values in Tradingview Backtest results, use the ”Volume in contracts” option.
Extended Recursive Bands StrategyThe original indicator was created by alexgrover .
All credit goes to alexgrover for creating the indicator that this strategy uses.
This strategy was posted because there were multiple requests for it, and no strategy based on this indicator exists yet.
The Recursive Bands Indicator, an indicator specially created to be extremely efficient, I think you already know that calculation time is extra important in algorithmic trading, and this is the principal motivation for the creation of the proposed indicator. Originally described in Alex's paper "Pierrefeu, Alex (2019): Recursive Bands - A New Indicator For Technical Analysis", the indicator framework has been widely used in his previous uploaded indicators, however it would have been a shame to not upload it, however user experience being a major concern for me, I decided to add extra options, which explain the term "extended".
The Indicator
The indicator displays one upper and one lower band, every common usages applied to bands indicators such as support/resistance , breakout, trailing stop, etc, can also be applied to this one. Length controls how reactive the bands are, higher values will make the bands cross the price less often.
In order to provide more flexibility for the user alexgrover added the option to use various methods for the calculation of the indicator, therefore the indicator can use the average true range , standard deviation, average high-low range, and one totally exclusive method specially designed for this indicator.
Added logic:
We have implemented a logic that checks whether the bands have been following in the same direction for a set amount of bars. This logic must be true before it can enter trades. This is completely new code that was written by us entirely, and it makes a huge difference on strategy performance.
Strategy Long conditions:
1 — Price low is below the the lower band.
2 — The lower band keeps increasing in value until the 'lookback' setting amount of bars is reached.
Strategy Short conditions:
1 — Price high is above the upper band.
2 — The upper band keeps decreasing in value until the 'lookback' setting amount of bars is reached.
Strategy Properties:
We have set a default commission of 0.06% because these are Bybit's fees. The strategy uses an order size of 10% of equity, since drawdown is very low like this. We also use a 10 tick slippage to keep results realistic and account for this. All other settings were left as default apart from initial capital, just to decrease the size of the numbers.
ATR Trend Run - Signals Alerts SL and TP by Tech Store OnThe script uses several ATR formulas for entering/exiting trades, support/resistance lines to take TP1 (take profit 1) and another ATR formula for TP2 (take profit 2). Everything is fully configurable to your preference, and you can back-test it via TradingView. You can also configure the indicator for signals during US trading sessions (with or without power hour), as well as taking profits/stop-loss session time(s), as well as to close a position at the end of the trading session no matter what. Also, you can turn all of that off, so there are no trading session/end of day limits and each trade will run until it either hits SL, TP1, TP1 > back to entry, TP2. Note: indicator is set to skip consecutive/opposite signals, while you currently have a trade open > if you hit a trend – ride it to the end!
For example: If you will be day trading SPY and you wish to close your positions no matter what right before the market closes (3:45PM ET > 15min before closes): Make sure to checkbox “Intraday – Close Position Before Market Closes” in the strategy/indicator Settings, so that you are alerted soon before the market closes, if you wish to continue holding the position – leave this checkbox unchecked.
SL: SL is set to be slightly above/below the signal candle, which is best suited for this strategy.
Strategy Take Profit Approach
While the initial position open and SL hit is always based on a closed candle bar (can’t do otherwise, as otherwise you will have 10s of fake signal alerts), there are 2 ways on trading this strategy in terms of TP1 and TP1 taken > back to Entry, which is based off Alert type.
You can switch this as you like within the indicator settings, “Checked: TP1 taken > back to Entry per Price Touch | Unchecked: per Candle Close”.
Candle Close vs Price Touch: with the Default method - Candle Close for an alert for TP1 or if price comes back to Entry after TP1 is taken will only be triggered once candle bar fully closes crossing the area, while Price Touch will alert when price touches the area before candle bar closes.
For example: your trade is running well, you grab TP1 and the price reverses and hits your trade Entry area. With Price Touch – you are immediately alerted to close your trade with no loss and with TP1 profit. With Candle Close - you will receive an alert only once candle bar fully closes on top of the Entry crossing it backwards, meaning it may lower your TP1 profit or even completely reverse the trade into loss in case it will be a huge candle bar for any reason. However, it may touch the Entry area, looking like the price is reversing, but then continue per initial trade direction, sometimes becoming a trend. So, while Price Touch seem like a more conservative approach, Candle Close can give you much bigger profits if you catch a trend, but you can always change it via the Settings.
Note: TradingView back-testing engine does not have a feature to open/close orders IMMEDIATELY via Price Touch trigger, but only when the candle closes after price touches the scripted area/line/etc., so you for the most accurate results, test your strategy out via Candle Close setting. Otherwise, decide yourself. I personally like more Candle Close since I can test it out via back-testing with the most accurate results.
TP2 is set per Candle Close as often the ATR trailing stop line will be hit and bounced off, so it’s best to wait until candle actually breaks it/closes through it.
Note: If you will be observing the strategy LIVE, during LIVE candle bar movement – it will look weird, like it’s placing an order after order during any trigger – this seem like a TradingView bug, but is only observational, once the candle bar is closed and you refresh TradingView it will all look correct.
Back-Testing
If you wish to do some back-testing, just modify the strategy/indicator Settings:
-----1) STRATEGY: This is for back-testing/experimenting with the script inputs.
----------a. You can setup a start date (date, month, year) from which it will start opening back-test trades, select a position size and select TP1 size, the idea here is to close half (or whatever you choose) portion of the trade once you hit your TP1, then to either close at small profit or to catch a trend and close the second portion of the position long way ahead from Entry, otherwise it will alert you to close the position at TP2, if price comes back to Entry, at reversal signal or at the end of US trading session if the option for it is checked. If you wish to close the whole position at TP1, just enter the same amount for TP1 to match backtest position size. Otherwise you can experiment with TP1 sizing – try it out!
-----2) Feel free to experiment with ATR settings and with S&R Left/Right bars, you may be amazed how results will differ and find some really cool combinations!
-----3) Make sure you select/de-select “Intraday – Close Position Before Market Closes” setting depending on what you are back-testing and on which conditions
-----4) Note: If you wish to do some deep back-testing (1+ years), use the “Deep Backtesting” feature within Strategy Tester on the TradingView as otherwise it may show wrong results or even fail to compute the results
Add the alerts
-----Right-click anywhere on the TradingView chart
-----Click on Add alert
-----Condition: ATR Trend Run - Signals Alerts SL and TP, by Tech Store On
----------o Right underneath the condition click on the drop-down menu and select “alert() function calls only”
-----Expiration time: Whatever you wish
-----Alert actions: Whatever notifications you wish
-----Alert name: DO NOT TOUCH THIS
-----Hit “Create”
-----Note: If you change ANY Settings within the indicator – you must DELETE the current alert and create a new one per steps above, otherwise it will continue triggering alerts per old Settings!
- Note: If you add the alert while the script is currently “In Position” it will not know that. So either wait when there will be no position open at all or close your position partially if the bot opens it twice bigger or so in case per script the bot will think it is already in position.
Note: Because of the slippage and the order processing time between TradingView, AutoView and the Broker (it’s usually about a second or so), it is suggested to not use a timeframe lower than 1min. The script is working really well with 1M/3M/5M/H1/H4 timeframes per my back-testing, but feel free to explore via Strategy Back-testing what’s best for the instrument you wish to trade.
If you wish to try this out for a week or so – please reach out and I will give you access.
rt maax EMA cross strategythis just sample of our strategies we published with open source, to learning our investor the way of trading and analysis, this strategy just for study and learning

WilliamTrendFollower StrategyThis strategy is based on signals from the WilliamTrendFollower indicator.
You can optimize the parameters of this strategy as you wish. I hope you get the most accurate result.
About WilliamTrendFollower:
With this indicator, we try to catch the trends in price. With continued use of this indicator, we expect it to eventually escape horizontal positions and catch up with continuous trends.
Combined with the WilliamsR indicator and the exponential moving average indicator.
The WilliamsR Fisher Transforms are combined with the ATR indicator to create a line that lags behind the moving average value.
Since it is a tracking indicator, we created a line that is more connected to the price and itself.
In this way, a curve close to the price line is obtained in uptrends and downtrends.
In this indicator, if you choose the parameters correctly, you can easily bypass the horizontal positions. This gives you a safe visualization of support and resistance points as well.
From the settings of these indicators, you can set the multiplier and the exponential moving average period.
It works in all time intervals.
But it was calculated without volume , instead it was created using fisher transforms, moving averages, and the average true range .

Trend Hunter v4This strategy follows the Trend Hunter training strategy taught at InvestIshare.
Entries are made based predominantly on the price action being above/below the Ichimoku Cloud with the ATR based super trend being used as a trailing stop loss.
Additional trend tracking tools can be toggled on / off to improve the wind rate on some time frames, with additional options available to limit entries if certain conditions are met.
If you would like access to this indicator, send me a DM on the Investishare Discord in the Trend Hunters channel.

Ultimate Moving Average Strategy CreatorHave you ever wanted to create your OWN strategy, but don't have coding experience? Well now you can.
With simple settings, but millions of potential strategies and combinations, this indicator / strategy lets YOU make ALL the rules.
Start by choosing up to 4 moving averages from all the various types - Simple, Exponential, Hull, Volume-Weighted, etc. Choose the period and choose price source.
Now the fun part.
You select your values to compare and how to compare them. Want to test if the Fast Moving Average crosses over the Slow Moving Average? No problem. Want to add an additional test to check the closing price is greater than the Fast Moving Average? Done.
With additonal options to set take profit % and stop loss %, as well as a date range and the option for 'Long Only' positions, you can instantly see the results of any strategy in the strategy tester, then simply make an adjustment and refine the criteria without having to know or understand any of the complex coding and scripting.
I have tried many popular moving average strategies, but irrespective of the results, the thing that stood out to me was how inflexible they were. If it was designed to test a triple crossover, that's all it could do. With this indicator, literally anything is possible and modifying the parameters couldn't be easier.
Strategy Myth-Busting #8 - TrendSurfers+TrendOsc - [MYN]This is part of a new series we are calling "Strategy Myth-Busting" where we take open public manual trading strategies and automate them. The goal is to not only validate the authenticity of the claims but to provide an automated version for traders who wish to trade autonomously.
Our 8th one is an automated version of the " 653% Gain Magical 1 Minute Scalping Strategy Tested 100 Times | Become Consistently Huge Profit " strategy from " Fxaccurate US " who claims to have achieved 653% profit scalping GOLD on the 5 minute timeframe. As you can see from the backtest results below, I was unable to substantiate anything close to that that claim on any timeframe or symbol. Myth 10000% busted.
If you know of or have a strategy you want to see myth-busted or just have an idea for one, please feel free to message me.
This strategy uses a combination of 2 open-source public indicators:

3. When the price hits the take profit level (basically 50% of qty will be closed)
### Etc
1. Trend filter (ATR should be bigger than SMA of ATR)
- If the volatility of price is to small (ATR), then there could be false signal. To filter this out, I used the condition ‘ATR should be larger than SMA of ATR’.
2. Stoploss
- Enabled Stoploss based on ATR, Percent, Risk-Reward Ratio,
- Enabled Trailing Stoploss.
3. Choose MA Type
- You can choose MA Type

Volatility Stop with Vwap StrategyFirst the credits goes to @TradingView for their release of the volatility stop mtf indicator.
I have took it, and inside I have added a weekly vwap for a better trend direction and at the same time I have added a dynamic risk managment which is calculated from the distance between the volatility line to the close of the candle.
The rules for entry are simple:
For long:We enter when our close of the candle is above the volatility stop line and at the same time the close of the candle is above weekly vwap
For short we enter when our close of the candle is below the volatility stop line and at the same time the close of the candle is below weekly vwap.
We exit when we either have a reverse signal than the one we enterred, or based on the TP/SL which is calculated with the distance from vwap to the close of the candle.
If you have any questions please let me know !

The Timing can be changed to fit other markets, scroll down to "TIME CONDITION" to know more.
The commission is also included in the strategy .
The basic idea is when ,

Range Strat - MACD/RSIThis strategy uses a trend based indicator (MACD) for entry/exit signals with a momentum oscillator (RSI) to act as confirmation. Although relying on a trend based indicator this has been created for range bound crypto markets, which have been in a period of chop since June 2022.
Long/Short signals are generated from MACD with the RSI oscillator thresholds suppressing entries at price extremes. This is not a mean reversion RSI strategy! As the indicators are contrary to each other you will need to be generous with the RSI settings in order for signals to trigger.
Strategy is designed for use on the 4h timeframe, it may work well on higher timeframes, but lower time frames will lead to false signals. Use fixed percentage of equity for order size to capture the compounding effect. As a reversal strategy bear in mind that should market trend strongly in either direction stops will be required.
The RSI thresholds can be tailored to provide higher frequency or safer signals. Similarly tweaking MACD settings will provide earlier/more frequent or safer signals. As this is intended to enter near range high / low you should check the visual cues to ensure a ping-pong effect is observed, so that peaks and troughs are captured. Once an observable range is established the strategy works well across a range of crypto markets,
The script is open source, so feel free to amend as you wish. Using a different momentum oscillator may provide better results. I have prior coding experience, but first time using PineScript was last night, so it's not very tidy. I will update this with some additional customisation and TP/SL in the near future.
Usage: Range bound markets
Markets: Cryptocurrency Alts/BTC/ETH
Timeframe: 4h
3C Reversal Filter v1In essence, this strategy is a heavily smoothed range filter.
This strategy includes a backtester and ability to connect it with your 3 commas bot(See adviced settings below)
The calculation steps below gives an example on how signals are made:
1. Calculating the price movement using ATR, % change, standard deviation etc..
2. Obtaining the smoothed price using SMA.
3. Obtaining the absolute value of the bar-to-bar change.
4. Applying EMA, twice, to the values in step 3.
5. Obtaining the slow trailing line by multiplying the result of step 4 by 1.618.
Think of it as a heavily smoothed price range
If the 1.618 value looks familiar, that’s because it’s used in Fibonacci sequences. You can of course experiment with other values. I’ve seen good results with both 2.618 and 4.236
What does the strategy do?
1. Determine Trend Detection
2. Detect Short-Term Momentum
3commas settings:
-For now you can only use simple bots.
-Create LONG and SHORT bots for the coins you like to trade and set up alerts(You can send long and short signal from the same alert)
-Set TP to 50% the strategy will handle buys and exits based on your inputs.
-Set safety orders to 0. I might add DCA to the strategy if testing proves that to be a good solution.
-When you have made the bots input the bot ID and token adress in the settings of the strategy.
-When creating the alert use this webhook :https://3commas.io/trade_signal/trading_view
-In the message field you use {{strategy.order.alert_message}} as the placeholder.
Swing Trend StrategyThis script is a trend following system which uses a long term Moving Average to spot the trend in combination with the Average True Range to filter out Fakeouts, limiting the overall drawdown.
Default Settings and Calculation:
- The trend is detected using the Exponential Moving Average on 200 periods.
- The Average True Range is calculated on 10 periods.
- The Market is considered in an Uptrend when the price closes above the EMA + ATR.
- The Market is considered in a Downtrend when the price closes below the EMA - ATR.
- The strategy will open a LONG position when the market is in an Uptrend.
- The strategy will close its LONG positions when the price closes below the EMA.
- The strategy will open a SHORT position when the market is in a Downtrend.
- The strategy will close its SHORT positions when the price closes above the EMA.
This script is best suited for the 4h timeframe, and shows good results on BTC and ETH especially.
The options allow to modify the type of moving average to use, the period of the moving average, the ATR multiplier to add as well as the possibility to open short trades or not.
