How to use TradingView private chat

The contents of Private Chats are only visible to yourself and the user(s) in this chat. No other user can join an existing Private Chat without being invited.

Messages from moderators

Any direct message from moderators, including warning or ban messages will be sent as a Private Chat. It is important that you regularly check whether you have received any.

How to start a new private chat?

Click the “Message” button on the profile of the user or in the pop-up that appears when hovering over a username in idea comments.

How to add additional users to your Private Chat?

TradingView offers the possibility to add or remove additional users to a Private Chat.

Options when using Private Chat

• Quote this message:
  This will include the message in your reply. Optionally you can click the quotation marks that appear when you hover over the message.
• Permanent link to this message:
  Will open that chat message in a window from which you can copy the link to that particular message.
• Ignore username:
  If you don’t want to see the messages of a particular user, you have the option to ignore this user.

Including Pine code in messages

You can make Pine code monospace and form code blocks in chat messages by enclosing your code between the [pine] and [/pine] tags.
