DUST is an inverse play on the MarketVector Global Gold Miners Index. The index includes companies that generate at least 50% of their revenues from gold and/or silver mining, royalties, or streaming, or have at least 50% of their mineral resources related to gold and/or silver. Like most leveraged and inverse products, it's designed to provide a one-day bet on the index. As such, the fund is designed to be held for no more than one trading day. Returns may deviate from the expected -2x if held for longer than a single day due to factors such as volatility and compounding effects. Since the fund is designed for daily use, the trading costs are of greater importance. Before Mar. 31, 2020, the fund provided 3x inverse daily exposure to the NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index. On Sep. 19, 2025, the index changed to MarketVector Global Gold Miners Index.
