The fund offers 1.25x leveraged exposure to the Solactive Canada Energy Top 10 Index, an equal-weighted index of ten Canadian energy companies selected based on market capitalization. The fund includes firms in energy-related industries such as oil and gas production, integrated oil, oil refining/marketing, coal, contract drilling, oilfield services/equipment, and oil and gas pipelines. Due to its very narrow holdings, investors can expect a high level of concentration and volatility in the portfolio. The underlying index rebalances on a quarterly basis while the funds leverage will be rebalanced within two business days of OILYs leverage exceeding 2% above its target leverage of 25% of NAV (i.e., if the leverage is greater than 27% of OILYs NAV). The fund employs a covered call option strategy to enhance yield, mitigate risk, and reduce volatility. Such covered call options will be written by the fund manager at its discretion on up to 100% of the funds value.
