The fund seeks long-term high absolute returns while preserving capital through a long/short equity strategy with a long bias. The strategy looks to provide exposure to innovative and growing companies within the US and Canadian economies. A combination of top-down thematic approach and bottom-up company analysis is used to ultimately create a concentrated portfolio of 25-75 holdings. Long exposure may include small positions aligned with a given theme or a large individual exposure on a high conviction security. Short exposure may include equities of suspected underperformers or expected decliners. Options trading may also be used within the strategy to enhance returns on both positions. The funds aggregate gross exposure will not exceed 150% of its assets, while short sales are limited to 50%. The fund may use other funds to obtain the desired exposure, may hold more cash, and dynamically manage its exposure in preserving its capital.
