The fund aims to generate tax-efficient dividend income while focusing on capital preservation through an actively-managed portfolio of preferred shares and other income-producing securities of Canadian companies. Portfolio holdings could also include Canadian and foreign equities, fixed-income securities, and income trusts. Security selection process is based on knowledge of the company, its industry, and its growth prospects. The process is done through fundamental research, and consideration of quantitative and technical factors by the sub-advisor. Final selection and weighting are determined through a credit analysis for each security, and an assessment of the risk profiles, relative performance, and general economic conditions. Overall foreign exposure is capped at 10% of the funds asset. The fund may also invest less than 10% of its assets in other funds, including ETFs, managed by the sub-advisor.
