The fund actively and primarily invests in a portfolio of investment-grade corporate debt securities from Canada set to mature in 1-3 years. In seeking to earn the highest level of income, the fund may hold fixed income securities issued by the Canadian federal, provincial or municipal governments as well. Since the fund is actively managed, allocation is at the discretion of the manager who uses a systematic value-added strategy to distribute the funds assets across a variety of sectors, credit quality and yield. To help preserve the capital, the fund may also hold short-term high-yield fixed income securities and invest no more than 30% in foreign securities. The fund is designed for investors with a low risk appetite who are seeking steady and high cash flow from a diversified portfolio delivering efficient exposure to the potential of short-term Canadian debt obligations.
