The fund invests in high quality, CAD-denominated government bonds. The index consists of semi-annual pay fixed-rate federal bonds issued by the Government of Canada (including both non-agency, agency/crown corporations) and supranational entities. The index is weighted by market value and is usually rebalanced daily. Eligible securities must have a credit rating of AAA and must have less than five years remaining until maturity. ZFS aims to hold securities in parallel proportions as they are reflected in the index. The Manager may also use a sampling methodology, which uses quantitative analysis to select bonds that resemble index constituents in terms of key risk factors, performance attributes, industry weightings, market capitalization and other appropriate financial characteristics. The portfolio is rebalanced daily.
