Divergence is simply when price and a technical indicator are moving apart or going in opposite directions. For example, over a 2 month period, price may fall, while the indicator rises. This is a notable condition in many popular indicators such as the Relative Strength Index, The Accumulation/Distribution Line and The Chaikin Oscillator.
