Die Ereignisse der letzten Tage, wie die Zinsentscheidung der Fed, die Zollverhandlungen und der Regierungsstillstand, schienen den WTI-Preis nicht beeinflusst zu haben. Aus technischer Sicht ist eine Long-Position empfehlenswert. Nach dem Ausbruch aus dem Abwärtstrendkanal dürfte der Preis die Region um 63–65 US-Dollar ansteuern.
