Microsoft launched a premium subscription tier that folds in more AI into its products, which will replace its Copilot Pro subscription.

The software company said Monday it is simplifying its subscription structure and eliminating Copilot Pro. The new Microsoft 365 Premium subscription combines everything from its Family and Copilot Pro subscriptions, plus additional features, and costs $19.99 a month.

Earlier this year, Microsoft added an AI feature known as Copilot to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook.

The premium subscription will include those Copilot features, as well as access to reasoning AI agents and early access to other agentic AI products that can create spreadsheets and presentations, Microsoft said. The new subscription tier also will offer the highest usage limits for certain features including image generation and voice.

Microsoft already offers free, personal and family plans for Microsoft 365. It is adding higher usage limits for certain Copilot features in those subscription plans, as well, but won't raise the cost.
