Nscale Signs Landmark Deal with Microsoft for 200,000 NVIDIA GPUs
Nscale has signed one of the largest AI infrastructure deals to date with Microsoft (MSFT, Financials), agreeing to supply roughly 200,000 NVIDIA (NVDA, Financials) GB300 GPUs across facilities in the United States and Europe. The partnership underscores Microsoft's push to expand its AI capacity globally and NVIDIA's continued dominance in high-performance computing.
Under the agreement, Nscale will deliver about 104,000 NVIDIA GPUs to a 240-megawatt data center campus in Texas starting in the third quarter of 2026. The site, leased from Ionic Digital, is designed to scale up to 1.2 gigawatts. Microsoft holds an option for a second phase adding 700 megawatts of capacity by late 2027.
In Europe, Nscale plans to deliver around 12,600 GPUs to the Start Campus facility in Sines, Portugal, beginning in early 2026. The contract also includes 52,000 GPUs from a new data center in Narvik, Norway, through Nscale's joint venture with Aker ASA. In the UK, Microsoft's Azure platform will deploy about 23,000 GPUs at Nscale's Loughton AI Campus starting in 2027.
Nscale CEO Josh Payne said the agreement confirms the company's role as a leading partner for global cloud and AI providers. Microsoft executive Jon Tinter said the collaboration advances the company's sustainability and scalability goals while reinforcing its position in international AI development.
