BYD Stock Rallies After Crushing Export Records and Beating Tesla Abroad

Less than 1 min read

Sep 29 - BYD's stock rose sharply by about 2% on Monday trading, after the company reported a major jump in export volume. BYD Company Limited (BYDDY) shipped 79,603 passenger cars in August, representing a 154.5% increase year-over-year.

That surge vaulted its year-to-date exports to 601,065 units, with the Song PLUS New Energy model alone accounting for 166,699 units.

The strong export numbers underline BYD's accelerating push into global markets. In August, the company outpaced Tesla TSLA in key regions including Spain, France, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. European sales impressed: in France, deliveries rose 792% to 1,338 units versus last year, and Spain's numbers climbed 414.6% to 1,827 units.

Over the first eight months, BYD also claimed top new energy brand status in Brazil, Turkey, Spain, and Italy. Its vehicles now reach 116 countries worldwide, supported by a logistics infrastructure that includes eight Ro-Ro export ships.
