OpenAI to Launch AI Jobs Platform by 2026
OpenAI is taking a direct shot at LinkedIn. The company announced Thursday it's building an AI-driven jobs platform that will connect candidates with employers, with a launch expected by mid-2026. That could put it on a collision course with Microsoft MSFT, its biggest investor and owner of LinkedIn.
The news came in a blog post from Fidji Simo, OpenAI's chief executive of applications and former Instacart CEO. She said the platform won't just serve big corporations it will also help local businesses and governments find AI talent.
At the same time, OpenAI is beefing up its learning hub, OpenAI Academy. A new certification program will give users credentials ranging from basic AI workplace skills to advanced training in custom jobs and prompt engineering. Learners will practice through ChatGPT's Study mode.
Microsoft has invested $13 billion in OpenAI, but the partnership has gotten more complicated as the two increasingly overlap in search, advertising, and now potentially in career networking.
