Bpost sees 2025 earnings at upper end of guidance after Q2 beat

Belgium's postal operator Bpost BPOST beat quarterly profit expectations on Friday, boosted by last year's Staci acquisition, and said it expected its operating earnings to reach the upper end of its guidance range in 2025.

It had forecast adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) between 150 million and 180 million euros ($175 million and $210 million) in February and reaffirmed it in June, despite a two-week strike that impacted results in the first quarter.

Bpost's adjusted EBIT rose 1% to 58.3 million euros ($68 million) in the second quarter supported by contribution from logistics firm Staci, acquired in August 2024.

"Staci's contribution to our 3PL (third party logistics) business growth in Europe confirms the relevance of this recent acquisition for our future," CEO Chris Peeters said in a statement.

Analysts polled by Bpost had expected quarterly adjusted EBIT of 47.9 million euros on average.

The group expects its EBIT growth to accelerate from next year, targeting a number above 275 million euros in 2027, it said during its capital markets day in June. It also aims to exceed 5 billion euros in revenue by then.
