BOJ must debate policy on view inflation target met, board member Takata says

Bank of Japan board member Hajime Takata said on Monday the central bank must discuss monetary policy on the assumption its inflation target has already been achieved, signalling the need for a near-term interest rate hike.
Overseas developments, such as the impact of U.S. tariffs, are not weighing on Japan's economy as heavily as initially thought, Takata said in a speech.
