The gasoline unit at Nigeria's Dangote oil refinery is tentatively expected to restart on October 14 following maintenance, industry monitor IIR said on Thursday.

The Dangote refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (bpd), shut its 204,000 bpd Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (RFCCU) on August 29 for maintenance, IIR said.

Dangote did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The plant, which began processing crude in January 2024, exported a higher volume of fuel oil in September than previous months, according to shipping data firm Kpler.

Modern oil refineries typically export higher volumes of fuel oil when they have an outage or maintenance.
