In London, the FTSE 100 Index went up by 68 points or 0.70 percent on Wednesday.

Top gainers were Burberry (3.00%), Whitbread (2.45%) and Intercontinental Hotels (2.12%).

Biggest losses came from Smith & Nephew (-1.82%), Scottish Mortgage (-1.60%) and Entain (-1.60%).
