ADBE: Adobe Set to Capitalize on AI Boom With New Subscription Model
- Adobe is set to announce an AI subscription model with legal protection for creators.
- The news was enough to cause Adobe’s share price to jump by almost 5% yesterday.
- Adobe is seeking to position itself as the “legally safe” generative AI tool for creators.

With the AI boom in full-swing, Adobe is seeking to capitalize on the excitement by announcing a new subscription model, allowing creators and businesses to implement AI solutions into their designs. It has become the latest tech company to announce an AI subscription model, after several large tech companies including Microsoft have already done the same.
Perhaps more uniquely, Adobe’s subscription will reportedly also include legal assurance for copyright claims by providing financial assistance in customer court battles. With copyright as something of a contentious topic in the field of AI right now, that feature is likely to grab the attention of investors. Shares in Adobe rose by 5% yesterday on the announcement – bringing its YTD performance to around 29%.
Some analysts have suggested that the generative AI sector is likely to become a roughly $1.3tn market in less than a decade. Adobe’s AI image generator ‘Firefly’ is purported by the company to be the most “commercially safe” image generator on the market – suggesting that copyright protection is the USP that Adobe is seeking to offer.
