The Argentine peso has had a tumultuous life. In the 1980s it was temporarily dethroned by a new currency called the austral. An arranged marriage with the dollar in 1991 produced some years of bliss but ended in a ruinous divorce. More recently, the peso has suffered the humiliation of being tagged the worst-performing currency in emerging markets.

I think the worst part about Argentina's currency crisis is just how systemic it really is. When it hits 200:1, what changes to make anyone think Argentina will do anything productive with their economy that says they won't just print as much peso as needed. This is a central bank and government so in crisis it hurts, physically and mentally the people of Argentina. If soy craters, it's all over for the peso.
