PINTEREST INC looks appealing into earnings. Although the price history is quite limited, what we have to analyse, shows some bullish sentiment has returned to the stock. It has not had the parabolic moves of some other recent IPO's but that is to its advantage, it gives the impression of stability and safety. Indicators and volume have given us a bullish view into earnings tonight.

$PINS breakout and short term target. It is a sad story. I was stalking $PINS for few weeks now. Last two days forgot to check and missed this breakout. I had an alarm on the trend line and I missed the signal, it triggered. However, I am planning to trade this stock and holding some long term, it will do great. I think it is safe area to buy and I am looking to open a position, or will look for another technical buy point. Good luck to you all!
PINS PINTEREST - How to catch a runaway unicorn! Buy SignalWhen a new unicorn leaps out of the gates on listing it can create FOMO - fear of missing out.
Should we chase the magical unicorn and possibly pay too much? Or set a trap.
Initially PINS popped and rose quickly but soon ran out of gas and floundered. Waiting for a new low before setting the trap we can wait until price closes above the high of the third lowest daily candle before we enter. green line.
Price is now consolidating above this line = this is the buy zone. Use a stop loss below the red line low to protect capital. Rule number one is always protect capital. always use a stop loss.
PINS possibilitiesPinterest has had a double-bottom right near the initial opening IPO price after a large unexpected loss on its first earnings. The price took a solid cut, but investors are still bullish given its solid numbers in revenue and user activity (definitely more important, to an extent).
I'm tracking two possible scenarios:
1) The current price is sitting on the edge of the gap down after earnings. There's a gap to fill above and the recent movement and volume suggests this could fill soon.
2) And on the other hand, the price is nearing the top of the channel it has traded in since earnings. Another retest of support probably won't hold in my opinion. I admit that I am bearishly biased here, but social media stocks seem to lose half of their IPO value before finding any traction (~$12 in the case of Pinterest).
All said, I'm remaining neutral until I see the next move. A break above and I'll go long for the gap to ~$30; a reversal from this area and I will go short at least until it reaches the bottom of the channel (but hopefully further). I don't have a solid time or price target on this move, but I would expect $20-21 to be the first stop.
