$YPF: Sell Argentine stocks, and sell shortGM gents, it seems that Argentine stock market peaked, the signs were there for a few months and it only got worse since the Buenos Aires province election that showed a devastating victory by the opposition to Milei's "libertarian" crusade.
Back in August 2022, it became clear NYSE:YPF would surge for 10 quarters in a row, and the time for this trend expired, odds of a reversal or long term consolidation are very high since December 2024.
Now the monthly has traced a big distribution pattern, which can culminate in a sharp break down during October (which lines up with mid term elections which will likely be won by the Peronist party). This makes Argentine stocks and bonds extremely risky, going forward, similarly to what what happened in 2018 when Macri's bull market turned sour.
FX_IDC:USDARS is trending up as well, breaking above the Central Bank's upper flotation band at $1400 Pesos per Dollar, which complicates matters further. The government has little room to maneuver after wasting tons of precious hard currency reserves in manipulating prices to keep an artificially inflated Peso and maintain disinflation at the behest of employment.
Crossing fingers (I live here), I'm really not too optimistic about the local market now.
Best of luck (to us all),
Ivan Labrie.

YPF (NYSE: YPF) Lead Argentine Stock RallyThe U.S.-listed shares of YPF SA (YPF) shot up 24.3% toward a one-month high in premarket trading Monday, as investors in the Argentina-based oil and gas company cheered the election of right-wing populist Javier Milei as the new president of Argentina.

Technical Analysist
Price Momentum
YPF is trading near the top of its 52-week range and above its 200-day simple moving average.
What does this mean?
Investors have been pushing the share price higher, and the stock still appears to have upward momentum. This is a positive sign for the stock's future value.
An Entry Against the Trend YPFI noticed a repeating pattern and tried to annotate this pattern using 1,2,3,4, and pattern completion 5 (white)
An entry here on this Monthly chart would be chasing this potential rise based on pattern completion
Risky entry against the trend, still possibly valid although, hard to pull off
$YPF YPF Triangle. 4 good support.$YPF Triangle. 4 good support. So far, we have seen two triangle patterns: one from an uptrend and bullish market move and one from a downtrend with a decidedly bearish look. Symmetrical triangles, on the other hand, are thought of as continuation patterns developed in markets that are, for the most part, aimless in direction. The market seems listless in its direction. The supply and demand, therefore, seem to be one and the same.
During this period of indecision, the highs and the lows seem to come together at the point of the triangle with virtually no significant volume. Investors just don't know what position to take.
However, when the investors do figure out which way to take the issue, it heads north or south with big volume in comparison to that of the indecisive days and/or weeks leading up to the breakout. The breakout generally occurs in the direction of the existing trend. But, if you are looking for an entry point following a symmetrical triangle, jump into the fray at the breakout point.
A technical approach to YPFEven when YPF is considered for many investors linked with a non market friendly goverment, we can see a clearly and non random ressitance and support trend lines. From 1994 to April 2020 YPF was under 11 usd only for 2 months. It´s time to buy. Target? 15 usd in one year.
YPF Going to final crash or finally will jump to reburn? After September 1st of 2005, YPF began a down way with very less interruptions. Today, Oil is not the "vedette" of transport, specially to the future. Will we watching the final of the company very soon or maybe, some process of management could change its destiny?
